Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Release Manager - Agile Software Delivery is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing software releases within the IT department, primarily utilizing Agile methodologies. This role involves close collaboration with development teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely deployment of software. The Release Manager will leverage agile delivery tools including Atlassian Jira and Confluence to track release readiness and report on the progress of releases and manage defects. This role plays a critical part in supporting and implementing projects for the Boost Mobile brands at EchoStar.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of software releases using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define release scope, goals, deliverables, and communication strategies.
  • Develop and maintain release plans and timelines, tracking progress, managing dependencies, and reporting status using Agile project management tools.
  • Identify, monitor, and escalate release risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution of defects before deployment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams-including development, testing, and infrastructure-to enable successful, high-quality releases.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize Agile release processes, support zero-defect implementations, and maintain high platform uptime while managing customer expectations.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of Release Management experience, preferably in software delivery using an Agile or hybrid Agile methodology

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, Agile methodologies, SDLC, and formal release management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Proficient in using Agile project management and tracking tools, including Atlassian Jira, for release planning, tracking, and defect management.
  • Communicate effectively with IT management, development, testing, and infrastructure teams, translating business strategy into technical requirements.
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills with the ability to consult and influence customers at a business level.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities, capable of working with diverse stakeholders across organizational levels.
  • Equally adept in leading or participating on teams, applying both theoretical and practical release management knowledge to ensure successful delivery.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $83,160.00/Year - $118,800.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
