Position Summary: The SUD Wellness Specialist will cultivate and promote relationships with service providers to achieve coordination of care for clients. The position will provide counsel and support to clients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency. That SUD Wellness Specialist will conduct interventions and make referrals for outpatient and residential services that best meet the client’s recovery needs and work closely with both service providers and clients who are participating in outpatient programs. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary.

Responsibilities Include:

· Make recommendations and or placement for clients needing substance abuse recovery services

· Conduct drug testing for trainees of Homeboy Industries/community clients

· Experience interfacing with other service entities such as Probation, DCFS, LAUSD, Hospitals, and Domestic Violence crisis centers.

· Mission-driven person with strong work ethic

· Ability to relate sensitively to persons of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds

· Able to prioritize tasks and work in a timely and accurate manner

· Data Entry and follow-up to ensure accurate data management

Qualifications

· High school graduate or higher education degree required

· Working knowledge of the criminal justice system

· Computer skills, preferably familiarity with Care4

· Bilingual, Spanish-speaking, a plus, but not required
