The Global Corporate Development team works directly with WEBTOON management to identify, evaluate, and execute inorganic growth opportunities through acquisitions, investments, or strategic partnerships. This position plays a critical role in accelerating WEBTOON’s global expansion by collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure internal alignment with the company’s strategic priorities.
This is an exciting and challenging role in a fast-moving industry. The ideal candidate is expected to bring financial analysis and deal experience, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication is also a must, for engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and complete strategic growth opportunities, including M&A and new business development
Collaborate with leaders across different business functions on market insights to support strategy and M&A activity
Lead or support deal process - from sourcing to execution
Construct detailed financial and valuation models
Prepare executive-ready presentations that articulate the rationale for the proposed deal
Participate in all facets of due diligence, including post-merger integration
Cultivate relationships with industry leaders, startups, and investors
Support other adjacent areas, such as strategic partnerships and new business initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 7+ years of M&A experience (investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate development)
Strong knowledge or interest of the U.S. media & entertainment landscape
Proficiency in financial modelling and driving M&A deals to completion
Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; capable of building complex financial models and executive-ready presentations with structured rationale to support decision-making
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team player
Ability to manage different working cultures and timezones
BA or equivalent experience required; MBA and/or international experience a plus
Professional working fluency in spoken and written Korean or Japanese a plus
Experience working for a major entertainment company a plus
