We are seeking a confident and experienced leader to join WEBTOON Consumer Goods as Executive Creative Director. Reporting to the Head of Consumer Goods, this face-forward, high-impact role will set the overall creative direction for our products and campaigns, managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team across design, production, marketing and publicity.   They will guide projects from initial concept through to final execution with core responsibility for the WEBTOON Webshop.  The Executive Creative Director will ensure all creative output is cohesive, aligns with brand identity and resonates with our target audiences. This opportunity is ideal for a creative lead who has a strong affinity for defining brand vision, hitting project deadlines, and delivering business-focused outcomes.  This is a dynamic role that will allow the right person to make a mark on the future of WEBTOON Consumer Goods.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partner with the Head of Consumer Goods to develop and implement a compelling creative vision and strategy for the relaunch of the WEBTOON Webshop
  • Initiate strategy meetings with key partners and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and partner needs 
  • Manage relationship with webshop licensee to ensure creative deliverables and materials are provided in a timely manner and they meet all expected delivery dates in turn
  • Work with our IP Strategy team and Korean colleagues to identify key product mix to import 
  • Gain insights into the WEBTOON fandom with the goal to make the SHOP a destination
  • Develop an IP-focused full-year release plan and supporting workback schedules
  • Collaborate with Traffic Coordinator and Production to develop project schedule templates that allow for scalability 
  • Oversee two high-performing teams, providing high-level guidance and creative vision

  • Design & Production:
  • Advise on brand guideline adjustments/best practices to create a recognizable look and feel across all products
  • Stay up on consumer product trends to ensure packaging and book covers fits into ever-evolving market
  • Provide mentorship to in house designer and coach on how to provide feedback and creative direction to our stable of freelancers

  • Marketing & Publicity: 
  • Lead creative brainstorming sessions to drive GTM strategies for top tier releases 
  • Act as a liaison between marketing & publicity and our internal design team (based in Korea) as needed to clarify creative direction
  •  Ensure brand consistency across all marketing touchpoints, from social media to product packaging and advertisements
  • Review and approve all creative assets, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines
  • Manage Assistant Manager, Ad Promo providing pathway for growth and development

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years working in a creatively driven role with at least 3 years managing teams and overseeing budgets
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set and prioritize goals, yet willing to be hands-on to get the job done (a “coach-player”)
  • An accountable and proactive troubleshooter driven by fixing problems
  •  Experience in consumer-facing platform design, ideally with an e-commerce or sales focus with a strong cross-category portfolio (styleguides, product development and marketing assets)
  • Proficiency with key design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) and familiarity with project management tools (such as Asana, Monday)
  • A network of freelancer designers, photographers, specialists to tap into 
  • Effective written, verbal, and oral communication skills
