About this Role:
We're seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our Engineering team. This role involves building and maintaining websites, web-based applications, and internal tools that support customer-facing portals, marketing initiatives, and business operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Marketing, IT, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant web solutions aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain our primary website and modern web applications
- Create and consume RESTful APIs to integrate services and applications
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code and documentation
- Optimize website and application performance focusing on Core Web Vitals and page speed
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work within Agile development workflows using Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management and sprint planning
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver tailored solutions
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of professional web development experience
- Strong proficiency in PHP and WordPress development (theme/plugin customization, Roots/Bedrock framework, Gutenberg blocks)
- Experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript with Node.js and NPM (or similar) package manager and bundlers like Webpack or Vite.
- Solid understanding of frontend frameworks including Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap
- Experience with MySQL and MongoDB including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
- Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA) and ADA compliance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical team members
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, PHPUnit, React Testing Library, or similar)
- Familiarity with Static Site Generators (SSGs) such as Astro, Hugo, or Jekyll
- Understanding of web security principles including SSL/TLS, cryptography, secure authentication, OWASP Top 10 guidelines, and GDPR compliance
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals and performance optimization techniques
- Knowledge of .NET and C# for API development and management
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 for authentication and authorization
- Experience with Docker and containerization concepts for development and deployment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Base Salary: $105,000 - $120,000 based on experience and location.
