The Watch Officer monitors and manages critical events at Netflix's GSOC, ensuring safety and security through analysis and incident management.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Watch Officer who will be embedded at Netflix’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in Los Angeles, CA. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the end-to-end life cycle of critical events to ensure the safety and security of Netflix’s clients' people, operations, and assets.
This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with 3.5% match, generous PTO, $100/month technology stipend, etc.).
Essential Job Functions
- Monitor real-time information through the use of GSOC tools, primarily on the Everbridge platform
- Effectively apply reporting procedures to determine incident reportability and severity level
- Manage all aspects of incident creation, updating, and closing in a timely manner including the dissemination to relevant stakeholders
- Attend team meetings to collect requirements and understand priorities
- Ensure proper reporting back to requesting individuals and stakeholders
- Build Intelligence Insights Reports, researching and reporting risks to assist stakeholders to make informed decisions
- Prepare, manage and launch Incident Management Teams in Crisis Management calls
- Contribute to operational briefings and GSOC Reports and maintain data and metrics efforts
- Gather social media analysis and proactively monitor, research, and alert around changing trends or potential impact on the client
- Provide intelligence support for functional areas of expertise, including Travel Risk Management, Security Operations, and Executive Protection
- Provide risk intelligence support for crisis management, enterprise risk management, and geopolitical risk management
- Deliver reports, briefings, and presentations on a routine basis to help reduce uncertainty and answer priority intelligence requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in corporate intelligence or related fields
- Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Security Studies, or a related field
- Working level proficiency with Everbridge (advanced proficiency preferred)
- Strong analytic, oral, and written presentation skills including the ability to deliver communications centered on the target audience
- Advanced proficiency in web-based social media platforms, search tools, productivity applications, and communication technology
- Proven ability to work with highly confidential information
- Ability to work proactively and constructively in a team setting, as well as individually with little day-to-day oversight
- Detail-oriented, with excellent reading comprehension skills
- Multilingual capabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus
- Entertainment / tech industry experience a plus
