Responsibilities:
The Data Governance Team is responsible for ensuring the data needs of BlackRock and the clients of BlackRock Solutions are fulfilled with accurate, complete, and timely data.
As a member of Third Party Oversight team within Data Governance, you will play a key role in a growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Define and implement a standard process for third party lifecycle management and mature and integrate with existing processes and workflows
Build and maintain high performing relationships with our third party data vendors & core internal partners to achieve a comprehensive, quality data offering
Understand Third party methodologies and differences across vendors and strategically resolve to meet client needs
Manage Third party data providers for ESG, Index, Pricing, and Economy data.
Measure and oversee vendor data quality and change management projects and support requests on all data challenges
Serve as a liaison between vendors SME, business SME, and Data stewards SME teams to manage the capability roadmap, issue tracking and change tracking
Work closely with data customers both internally and externally to stay abreast of new and evolving business and data challenges, requirements and market trends in order to align our data capabilities and content with business needs
Develop and continuously improve and expand coverage of third party performance by monitoring progress through KPI’s
Keep Senior management abreast of Vendor Data Quality, challenges and Progress
Provide data insights and expertise in response to changing business needs, market events, regulatory change and new financial products.
Profile and analyze data to ensure content meets business requirements while being compliant with the various dimensions of data quality as outlined in our data quality policy.
Design data quality checks and performance metrics to assess data health and detect deficiencies and improvement with our data sources or internal data processes.
Active engagement with key product stakeholders to ensure client data experience is aligned and exceeding expectations
Ongoing engagement with technology on ways to innovate and deliver high quality data solutions through robust storage, maintenance, management and delivery methods.
This function will expose the candidate to a wide range of BlackRock’s and BlackRock Solutions’ data providers and sources, tools and businesses and will require him/her to work closely with internal clients such as portfolio management, account management, operations, BlackRock Solutions as well as external users of reference and master data
Qualifications / Requirements:
Strong experience working with ESG, Index, Pricing, or Economy data.
Experience working with Data Vendors.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation, interpersonal skills and influence while working with internal and external clients.
Candidate must have strong organizational skills and demonstrate project management, change management, issue management experience.
Data modelling experience to solve a business challenge is a plus
Minimum of 7 years of experience with large-scale data programs or data vendors
Ability to document detailed requirements and transpose them into data specifications and translate them to technical requirements a plus
Candidate must possess and demonstrate working knowledge of financial markets and general knowledge of the entire investment landscape with strong grasp of current and future data trends and industry practices
Candidate is expected to think critically about complex business challenges and possess strong problem solving skills in order to deliver holistic solutions.
Candidate must have enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working in a high pressure and fast pace environment while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data.
Candidate must be able to work in both an entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment.
Experience in Agile Development preferred with knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Power BI, AI/ML Integration is a plus.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$140,000.00 - USD$200,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
