Job Summary:  

The VP of Strategic Partnerships is an entrepreneurial and experienced leader that will help the company get closer to its mission of expanding access to quality mental health services by building and overseeing an existing  business line.  This person is responsible for the end-to-end strategy and execution of this venture, including external relationship management, partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure successful planning and operations along with reporting on business metrics to ensure alignment with overall company goals. This is a critical role for the company and one that has high visibility.  This role requires someone who is mission-driven, hands-on, and comfortable with a fast pace and ambiguity.  

Management Responsibilities: 

  • Creating change in the department that is beneficial to the company as a whole
  • Allocating budgets and implementing policies and procedures to achieve set goals
  • Develop and execute long-term organizational strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to promote high performance and professional development.
  • Making key decisions regarding resource allocation, budgeting, policies, and operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the organization.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategies to achieve operational excellence.
  • Effectively communicate the organization's goals, strategies, and performance to stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Make decisions that align with the organization's overall strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Report on and be accountable for  outcomes and business metrics related to the new venture​.​
  • Support and orchestrate cross-functional teams to design and execute an existing venture in partnership with an external entity / partner​.​
  • Partner & drive communications with the external entity to understand requirements and drive consensus internally and externally on the proposed solution​.​
  • Collaborate with other internal teams in a complex, multi-layered environment to drive execution​.​
  • Refine and iterate on process and design to further strengthen the partner relationship and drive continued growth​.​

Required Skills

  • Strong financial acumen: comfort with and inclination to lead with data and facts​.​
  • Strong presentation skills, including demonstrated success presenting and communicating with other executives​.​
  • Strong written and oral communication skills​.​
  • Experience working in a high growth environment​.​
  • Experience and comfort with working with ambiguity​.​
  • Strong analytical skills, can translate complex data into clear action and can communicate it to senior levels of the organization​.​
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or anytime in the future.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience. Prior success in expanding businesses (in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or related experience).
  • 5+ years of people management experience​.​
  • Experience starting or scaling a successful startup, ideally in the healthcare space​.​
  • Experience working directly with product development and engineering teams​.​

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet. 
  • Must be able to observe and communicate  information on company provided laptop. 
  • Move up to 10 pounds on occasion.

Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.

The salary range for zone 1 (all states, excluding those in zone 2 or zone 3, and D.C.) is $217,200 - $258,100.

The salary range for zone 2/3 (AK, CA, CT, CO, HI, MA,  MD, NJ, RI, WA) is $238,800 - $270,000.

All zones are eligible for equity in the form of stock options and an annual bonus.

Additionally, this position is eligible for the following benefits: company sponsored life insurance, disability and AD&D plans.  Voluntary benefits such as 401k retirement, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, dependent care and commuter/parking options are also available. Octave offers generous Paid Time Off as well as paid parental leave benefits.
