The VP of Revenue Strategy will develop and execute the monetization strategy for MaxPreps, focusing on ad product operationalization, workflow development, and team leadership.
PlayOn is looking for a process-oriented, growth-minded VP of Revenue Strategy to lead development and execution of the monetization strategy for the company’s National Ad Sales division. With a focus on operationalizing new and existing ad products forMaxPreps, this candidate will play a crucial role in architecting systems and workflows that support product development, inventory management, pricing and planning, client proposals, campaign optimizations, and post-sale execution. Reporting to the SVP, National Ad Sales, the ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind and can operate cross-functionally to help the team drive and retain revenue against MaxPreps and the broader PlayOn portfolio of brands including GoFan and NFHS Network.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
- Monetization Strategy– Spearhead development of MaxPreps’ monetization strategyacrossdisplay, video, and social
- Workflow Development –Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop clear and efficient workflows that support revenue generation and retention
- Inventory Management–Build systems that can effectively manage the the projection and delivery of cross-platform ad inventory
- Ratecard & Product Suite– Collaborate cross-functionally to dream up new, unique ad products and high-impact brand experiences
- Talent Development –Build and retain a diverse, empowered team of sales planners, social optimizers, and account service managers
In this role, you can expect to
- Provide exceptional team and thought leadership surrounding monetization strategy for MaxPreps and the broader PlayOn portfolio
- Partner cross-functionally to develop proactive and reactive ad products that elevate the entire MaxPreps content ecosystem
- Spearhead creative development, ideation, and construction of company ratecard(s), proposal templates, audience profiles, and additional executional materials
- Partner with the people team and senior leadership to recruit, manage, and empower team of sales marketers, research associates, and designers tasked with supporting and influencing in-market pitches and storytelling
- Optimize campaigns including social-specific executions involving social platforms, paid boosting/amplification, etc.
- Build effective pre- and post-sale workflows that champion quickness, efficiency, and exceptional account service and retain revenue
- Inform and influence decisions pertaining to production, deal margins, non-media endeavors, and more.
- Support the creation and implementation of client and/or company-specific measurement initiatives
To thrive in this role, you have
- Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years operations and/or revenue strategy experience
- Demonstrated track record of building effective pre- and post-sale workflows and managing core facets of the inventory / pricing operation
- Creative “big picture” mindset and problem-solving attitude that can help influence monetization strategies
- Experience managing teams and/or projects with strong performance and resultswith a passion to lead team members
- Ability to thrive in multiple environments and effectively work with others to solve problems and achieve broader business outcomes
- Organized, strategic thinker who’s able to take concepts to reality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in and enthusiasm for high school and broader sports marketplace
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Keynote, and other design / presentation tools
- Understanding of the digital landscape including Display, Video, Audio, Social, Branded Content, Events, Data/Targeting, Ad Measurement, and more
