Role Summary/Purpose:
Working within the team responsible for growing Synchrony’s own-branded General Purpose Credit Card (GPCC), this role will be responsible for driving our mission critical growth agenda at scale. Working cross-functionally, the role will drive strategic initiatives that foster the ongoing growth and profitability of the program. They will champion initiatives to enable deeper engagement with Synchrony customers and partners via Cross-Sell activity and process improvements. They will have the capability and experience to make prompt, time-sensitive decisions, manage deadlines and resolve problems. Additionally, they will be part of a team thinking through (a) our strategic approach to the GPCC product, (b) the diversification and benefits it brings to the business and (c) important process learnings and improvements as we develop new ways of going to and positioning ourselves in the GPCC market.

Essential Responsibilities:
Support the General Purpose Card GM in driving overall program financial performance as well as key growth metrics for the portfolio
Develop and execute detailed portfolio growth strategies and roadmaps, including negotiation and implementation of enhanced or expanded product, feature capabilities, channels and customer experiences
Partner with cross-functional team in the development and implementation of key business strategies
Drive the Cross-Sell business strategy to expand the GPCC portfolio and maximize value for Synchrony. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and enable new growth opportunities. Leverage data analytics to articulate business opportunities, measure success, and ensure alignment with Synchrony’s ACE initiatives. Develop compelling business cases to influence internal partners and clients, facilitating informed decision-making and successful delivery.
Effectively communicate growth strategies/progress to key stakeholders
Partner with Marketing to develop and champion effective strategies for prescreening, Cross-Sell, and cardholder engagement; drive initiatives and processes that optimize the customer experience and increase conversion, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
Establish effective working business relationship with internal partners
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of a degree, high school diploma or GED plus 10 years’ experience in financial services industry (card or fintech experience a plus)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in card portfolio experience with General Purpose Credit Cards, client management or marketing
Strong cross functional experience within the card business including function such as: credit risk, marketing, finance, operations, and/or collections
Ability to travel up to 20%+, for key internal strategy sessions and relevant industry events

Understanding of the GPCC market and how it differs from PLCC / Dual card
Current on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies
Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
Ability to demonstrate innovation and creative approaches to business needs
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining timelines and delivery plans; ability to understand issues and escalate as necessary
Strong presentation skills/ability to influence
Advocate for effective and contemporary customer experience
Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work remotely and independently
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
