Who is Credible?

Credible is a leading U.S. consumer finance marketplace, transforming the way consumers access and compare financial products. We operate at a consumer and enterprise level. On the consumer side, we help millions of people make smarter financial decisions by comparing personalized, pre-qualified offers across student loans, personal loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance — all without impacting their credit score. On the enterprise side, we power financial product comparison and distribution through deep integrations and partnerships with lenders, insurance carriers, and financial institutions, as well as providing marketplace technology and capabilities to third-party partners and distribution channels.

About the Role:

Credible is seeking an executive-level, visionary, and high-performing Head of Business Development to lead and scale our Business Development team. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will own the end-to-end strategic direction, expansion, and execution of Credible’s partnership ecosystem.

In this role, you will lead the team responsible for ideating, structuring, and winning high-impact marketing and distribution partnerships that drive top-of-funnel traffic across all of Credible’s verticals (student loans, personal loans, mortgages, and insurance). You will build executive-level relationships, oversee complex, multimillion-dollar deals, and serve as a key growth catalyst for the company.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned fintech dealmaker with a proven track record of leading high-volume partnership teams, navigating complex cross-functional implementations, and translating big-picture vision into measurable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive Dealmaking: Ideate, pitch, structure, negotiate, and close large-scale, strategic marketing and distribution partnerships that drive massive, sustainable revenue and top-of-funnel user growth.
  • Pipeline & Revenue Ownership: Take full accountability for the partnership revenue line, managing high-level pipeline forecasting, deal economics, and portfolio optimization for executive leadership and the Board.
  • Enterprise Relationships: Cultivate and maintain C-suite and executive relationships with strategic affiliates, major financial institutions, platforms, and media partners in the fintech and consumer finance ecosystems.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Executive Leadership, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to ensure seamless partner onboarding, technical integration, and regulatory alignment.
  • Advanced Sizing & Modeling: Oversee sophisticated financial modeling, opportunity sizing, and quantitative risk/reward frameworks to evaluate prospective partners and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Industry & Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape across digital lending, insurance, and online financial marketplaces to proactively identify emerging growth channels.
Education and Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or enterprise sales, with at least 3–5+ years in a senior leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Proven track record of closing and scaling transformative, multi-million dollar strategic partnerships in the fintech, consumer lending, mortgage, insurance, or digital marketplace spaces.
  • Deep expertise in affiliate networks, performance marketing partnerships, co-branded funnels, and complex commercial deal structures.
  • Strong technical and financial acumen—ability to partner with Product/Engineering on API/technical integrations and work with FP&A on complex revenue-share models.
  • Exceptional executive-presence and presentation skills; expert at framing compelling strategic narratives for internal and external C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong network of existing executive-level relationships across financial media, fintechs, banks, and major publisher networks.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
