This role will partner closely with executive leadership and revenue teams to drive forecasting accuracy, unit-economics discipline, and data-driven growth decisions.

This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for a finance leader with strong startup experience supporting Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success organizations.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Own annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning
  • Build and maintain 3-statement models and scenario analyses
  • Deliver monthly management reporting, KPIs, and variance analysis
  • Prepare Board and investor materials
  • Partner with department leaders on headcount planning and spend management
  • Improve forecasting processes, tools, and financial rigor as the company scales

Go-To-Market (GTM) Finance

  • Serve as the finance business partner to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and RevOps
  • Own revenue forecasting, pipeline analytics, and quota capacity models
  • Analyze and optimize unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback period, gross margin, retention)
  • Support pricing, packaging, and deal economics
  • Design and evaluate sales compensation and incentive plans
  • Provide ROI analysis for growth initiatives and market expansion

Leadership & Strategic Finance

  • Build and scale a high-performing FP&A / GTM finance team
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure alignment between actuals, forecast, and reporting
  • Support strategic initiatives including fundraising, M&A, and partnerships
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance
  • Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed startup (Series B–D preferred)
  • Strong GTM finance experience supporting Sales and Marketing teams
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with SaaS metrics and subscription-based business models
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence senior leaders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $225,000–$275,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, location, and seniority, and may vary from the range listed.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
