At First Resonance, we aren’t just building software; we’re redefining the speed of advanced manufacturing. To do that, we need a marketing leader who builds at the same velocity as our engineers. We are looking for a VP, Marketing who views the traditional marketing playbook as a legacy system ripe for disruption.

You aren’t here to just "manage a team." You are here to build a self-sustaining demand engine from the ground up. You will lead with an AI-first mindset, automating the mundane to focus on the lethal: high-impact tactics that displace incumbents and put ION in the hands of every innovative manufacturer on the planet.

The Mission
  • Build the Engine: Move beyond "brand awareness" to own the pipeline. You are responsible for the immediate acceleration of new logos and qualified pipeline.

  • AI-First Execution: Replace manual, slow-moving processes with automated workflows. From content orchestration to lead scoring and outreach, you will build a lean, high-output machine.

  • Competitive Warfare: Analyze the tactics of our competitors and outperform them. You will equip our sales team with the intelligence and collateral needed to win in a crowded market.

  • Velocity over Tradition: We value iterative testing over six-month planning cycles. You will deploy, measure, and pivot in real-time.

Core Responsibilities
  • Demand Generation & Pipeline: Take full accountability for the "New Logo" quota. Design and execute multi-channel demand engines that deliver predictable, scalable revenue.

  • Automation & Tech Stack: Architect a marketing technology stack that prioritizes AI and automation, reducing the need for bloated headcount while increasing lead velocity.

  • Sales Enablement as a Weapon: Partner with Sales to develop aggressive "anti-competitor" playbooks and account-based marketing (ABM) strategies that move the needle.

  • Cross-Functional Growth: Work directly with Product and Engineering to bake virality and onboarding hooks into the product, driving both MQLs and PQLs.

  • Strategic Positioning: Serve on the Executive Leadership Team to align marketing spend directly with aggressive Board-level growth targets.

What You Bring
  • The "Builder" DNA: You have a track record of building marketing functions from 0 to 1 in high-growth, technical SaaS environments.

  • AI Native: You don't just use ChatGPT; you understand how to integrate LLMs and automation tools into the entire marketing lifecycle to gain a 10x speed advantage.

  • Quantitative Rigor: You live in the data. You can trace every dollar spent back to a pipeline stage and defend your ROI to a skeptical Board.

  • Competitive Spirit: You enjoy winning. You are obsessed with understanding market shifts in electrification and additive manufacturing to ensure First Resonance stays ahead.

Benefits & Perks

  • Health Insurance; medical, vision, dental, & life insurance.

  • Paid Parental Leave.

  • Employee Stock Option Plan.

  • Team outings, group lunches, open office, happy hours.

  • Paid holidays, sick days.

  • PTO.

  • 401K.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
