With Max Retail, sellers can enhance their sell-through rates and access new customer segments for increased market reach.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP of Marketing  to play a key role in driving revenue growth and shaping our brand presence across B2B marketplaces and D2C e-commerce channels. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing data-driven marketing campaigns to acquire new customers, retain existing sellers, and maximize customer lifetime value. You will have a deep understanding of both performance and product marketing, with proven experience in B2B and D2C environments. This role requires a highly analytical and results-oriented individual who can contribute to the success of our marketing team and the overall growth of the company. A key focus of this role will be to position our B2B brand as a true technology company for retail companies, and build a captivating D2C brand for our owned sales channels.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and execute data-driven performance marketing campaigns across various channels, including paid search, social media advertising, display advertising, and email marketing.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and optimize campaign performance.
  • Manage assigned marketing budgets effectively, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment (ROI).
  • Continuously monitor and analyze campaign performance, identifying areas for optimization and driving continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute product marketing strategies to drive adoption and engagement of new features among existing sellers on our B2B platform.
  • Create compelling messaging and content that highlights the value proposition of new products and features, driving upsells and increasing customer lifetime value.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to increase seller retention and reduce churn, such as onboarding programs, loyalty programs, and personalized communication.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of brand building strategies that position Max Retail as a leading technology provider for retail companies in the B2B space.
  • Create compelling brand messaging and content that resonates with our target audience and differentiates us from competitors.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
  • Build a captivating D2C brand for our owned sales channels, driving customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across assigned marketing activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to effectively communicate campaign results and trends to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to regular reports on marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Lead and mentor a growing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with the marketing team and cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and engineering, to ensure alignment and achieve shared goals.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in performance marketing and product marketing, with a proven track record of success in both B2B marketplaces and D2C e-commerce.
  • 5+ years managing high performing teams
  • Deep understanding of performance marketing channels and tactics, including paid search, social media advertising, display advertising, and email marketing.
  • Solid understanding of product marketing principles and strategies for driving product adoption and engagement.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with experience in using marketing analytics tools and platforms.
  • Proficiency in A/B testing methodologies and campaign optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passion for marketing innovation and a desire to contribute to the success of a dynamic company.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
