They lead the pre-sale strategy team to deliver best-in-class proposals, POVs, and pitch narratives that shorten sales cycles, improve conversion, and drive efficient growth. A standout presenter and trusted executive partner, the VP is frequently client-facing—leading pitches, workshops, and strategic conversations with senior stakeholders. Internally, they are accountable for elevating pre-sale strategy standards, optimizing processes, and developing a high-performing team that consistently helps Viral Nation win.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Pre-Sale Impact

  • Own and lead pre-sale strategy across enterprise-level opportunities, ensuring all recommendations are data-driven, differentiated, and aligned to client business objectives.

Business Development Partnership & Deal Acceleration

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Business Development, supporting opportunity qualification, solution design, and pitch readiness.
  • Collaborate on deal shaping to ensure clarity of scope, strong strategic logic, and smooth transition into delivery post-sale.
  • Identify patterns across wins and losses to inform improvements in messaging, positioning, and process.
  • Help reduce friction in the sales cycle by improving clarity, alignment, and confidence in strategic recommendations.

Data Led Strategy & Insight Generation

  • Work closely with Business Intelligence to ensure data, insights, and benchmarks underpin all pre-sale narratives.
  • Translate complex performance data, market trends, and audience insights into clear, persuasive strategies for senior decision-makers.
  • Ensure every proposal articulates measurable outcomes, success metrics, and long-term value.
  • Champion a culture of evidence-based strategy across the pre-sale function.

Executive Storytelling & Pitch Excellence

  • Serve as a lead presenter in high-stakes pitches, RFPs, and strategic workshops—frequently engaging C-suite and senior executives.
  • Craft and deliver compelling strategic narratives that balance vision, creativity, and commercial rigor.
  • Elevate the quality of pitch materials, presentations, and storytelling across the organization.
  • Build credibility and trust with prospective clients as a senior strategic advisor.

Team Leadership, Enablement & Standards

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pre-sale strategists supporting enterprise opportunities.
  • Set clear strategic standards and best practices for proposals, POVs, and pitch strategy.
  • Coach the team on storytelling, data interpretation, executive presence, and strategic rigor.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on winning, learning, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Efficiency

  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Client Services to ensure alignment between what is sold and what can be delivered.
  • Help define scalable, repeatable pre-sale processes that improve speed, consistency, and quality.
  • Ensure clean handoffs from pre-sale to post-sale, maintaining strategic integrity and setting delivery teams up for success.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, integrated marketing, social, content, or influencer marketing within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience leading pre-sale strategy and pitching enterprise-level clients.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
