About the Role:

Redpanda seeks a Vice President of Finance with proven experience building and driving global financial operations to support rapid growth. This role reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will excel at adapting financial systems and processes to meet the constantly-changing needs of a fast-scaling business.

You Will:

  • Build, scale and lead the Accounting and Strategic Finance functions and develop a best in class team to drive accurate financial planning and reporting
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to set ambitious short and long term financial goals and objectives. Implement strategies to support and deliver on these goals
  • Drive monthly close and reporting process; aid CEO to drive content for quarterly updates to the Board and processes
  • Implement and optimize financial processes and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with GTM, Product, Engineering and G&A teams to develop strategies to support business goals
  • Lead future potential M&A or fundraising activity in addition to investor relations and investment decisions
  • Oversee treasury activities and cash flow management
  • Understand and be responsible for complying with relevant laws, regulations, and tax obligations. Partner with the legal and key stakeholders to develop tools for compliance and data accuracy

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. MBA and CFA/CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, financial consulting positions
  • Proven track record in high-growth startup environments, with expertise in building and scaling finance functions from the ground up in rapidly evolving organizations
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to help set the company up for financial success
  • Exceptional versatility in seamlessly navigating between high-level strategic vision and hands-on operational execution, ensuring both long-term objectives and immediate priorities are effectively addressed
  • Skilled at communicating complex information, both verbally and in writing. Comfortable interacting with employees at all levels, key stakeholders, and with investors
  • Creative, decisive, and action-oriented in their problem-solving approach
  • Can inspire a culture of innovation, execution, collaboration, accountability, and positivity
  • Expert in financial modeling to structure the business for optimal revenue goal achievement
  • Strong consultative approach with the ability to provide constructive pushback
  • Capable of shifting focus beyond established accounting and FP&A functions to drive strategic initiatives

U.S. base salary range for this role is $275,000 - $323,000 (CA, NY, WA) and  $260,000 - $310,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary. Your talent partner will share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
