About the company

At Covera, we're committed to ensuring high-quality healthcare is more than just a promise. That's why we're leading the way in the emerging science of quality, and connecting providers and payers in their shared quest to improve patient outcomes and care quality. By tackling this challenge, we have the ability to impact millions of lives by raising the standard of care nationwide.

Our initial focus is radiology, where an early and accurate diagnosis has a profound impact on the rest of a patient's care journey. Through our work, which uses clinically-validated science-based tools, we're helping doctors enhance their care, ensuring patients get the right diagnosis, and enabling the healthcare system to support quality improvement at scale.

Through our clinical intelligence platform, we have launched programs that help people access the most effective care and provide doctors with AI-powered quality insights and tools to enhance their care. Today, Covera is partnered with leading employers, payers and healthcare organizations across the US, including Walmart and Microsoft. And, with a pipeline representing over 25% of insured Americans, we are in the early stages of improving care quality for all patients across the globe.

About the role

As the Vice President of Business Intelligence and Strategy, you will lead and scale Covera Health’s analytics capabilities as we continue to grow the world’s leading clinical analytics platform for reducing medical misdiagnosis — already available to millions of patients. You will be responsible for defining and executing a forward-looking analytics strategy that drives measurable improvements in diagnostic accuracy, clinical outcomes, and healthcare cost efficiency.

This role requires a unique combination of strategic leadership, technical fluency, and healthcare expertise. • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, translating analytics into strategic initiatives
  • Lead high-level presentations and briefings for internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions with clarity and authority
  • Leverage deep understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement models, clinical workflows, and regulatory environments
  • Apply analytics to improve clinical performance, patient outcomes, cost optimization, and digital health initiatives
  • Support investor relations by developing and presenting data-driven insights on market trends, company performance, and strategic positioning
  • Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising efforts, ensuring analytics are central to Covera’s growth narrative
  • Translate complex data into compelling, investor-ready stories that highlight Covera’s impact on clinical outcomes, cost savings, and competitive differentiation
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing analytics team
  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, data accessibility, innovation, and continuous learning
Requirements:
  • 10+ years in strategy, analytics, or consulting, with proven leadership experience; 5+ years leading medical economics, actuarial, or analytics teams in healthcare
  • Deep technical expertise in medical economics, actuarial science, and/or healthcare data science
  • Direct experience working with healthcare claims data
  • Experience supporting investor relations or board-level communications by framing analytics and strategy for external stakeholders is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable strategic impact at the executive level
  • Proven track record of building and scaling analytics teams in high-growth environments
  • Advanced SQL skills; proficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery) strongly preferred
Benefits
  • Comprehensive medical plans - choose from three plans, including one with 100% of premiums covered for you and your dependents
  • Vision & Dental
  • Flexible Time Off - take the time you need, when you need it
  • Covera Fridays - once a month, Covera takes a fully paid day off to unplug and recharge
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Annual Professional Development Stipend to invest in courses, books, or any other professional development related activity
  • Annual Wellness stipend for fitness, mental health or other wellness expenses

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
