The VP of Business Development will lead commercial efforts in the US, developing strategies, securing deals, and fostering industry relationships within residential construction.
Promise Robotics is a rapidly growing venture-backed technology startup with a mission to help the building industry harness automation to produce more affordable and sustainable buildings. Promise Robotics brings together its proprietary AI brain, Robotic Tooling, and construction processes under one roof to create complete robotic solutions for digital manufacturing and assembly of highly efficient and sustainable buildings.
As the first US hire at Promise Robotics, you will lead our United States commercial efforts as we scale our Homebuilding Factory As-a-Service solution within the homebuilding industry. This is your opportunity to lay the foundations for growth across the United States, while directly closing high-value deals. We’re looking for someone who can balance hands-on sales execution with high-level business development. You will be responsible for securing deals across the United States, refining our go-to-market strategy, and setting the groundwork for scaling our sales function. This role requires strategic vision, an extensive network, sales expertise, and a deep understanding of residential construction.

What You'll Do:
- Market Entry Strategy: Develop and execute a business development strategy to help us enter and grow in the United States market.
- Opportunity Identification: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify high-impact business opportunities.
- Customer Acquisition: Cultivate relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders to secure new business opportunities.
- Partnership Development: Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures to drive business growth.
- Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the industry.
- Proposal Development: Lead the creation and presentation of proposals, pitches, and RFP responses to secure new business.
- Revenue Targets: Set and achieve ambitious revenue and profitability targets, ensuring sustainable growth.
- Brand Representation: Represent Promise Robotics at industry events, conferences, and meetings to build awareness and strengthen relationships.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular updates to the leadership team on progress, challenges, and opportunities in the new market.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Extensive knowledge of residential home building construction products and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing business development initiatives in the home building industry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
- Experience with data-driven sales strategies.
- Ability to travel as needed
