You’ll have the autonomy to design and execute strategies that bring new clients into The Trade Desk ecosystem, working across every vertical and collaborating with a diverse range of independent agencies. THE ROLE

The Trade Desk (TTD) is seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President, Business Development - Growth to lead our to lead our strategy and relationships with the world’s leading brands. This leader will own and scale several of The Trade Desk’s most strategically critical verticals—each complex on its own, together representing a massive share of revenue, influence, and future growth.​

This is a true GM-style role. This person will run multiple vertical businesses in parallel, each with distinct buying dynamics, regulatory realities, and agency relationships—while building a cohesive operating model across them.​​​

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Win New Business: Develop and scale the Growth Business Development team to deliver new business wins across all verticals
  • Consultative and Strategic Selling: Develop and execute strategies to identify, qualify and close high-potential prospects
  • Data Driven Sales Leadership: Use data and analytics to manage team pipeline, forecast performance and optimize sales processes, fostering a culture of performance, operational excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Orchestrate Cross-Functional Execution: Work closely across Sales and Client Services to ensure seamless handoff of new accounts to the Mid-Market team
  • Represent TTD externally: Act as a senior ambassador for TTD within industry events and build relationships across brands, industries and with independent and local agencies

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, sales leadership, or related roles, with significant experience in ad tech, SaaS, or digital media
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing sales teams focused on new business acquisition
  • Strong operational and analytical skills; advanced proficiency with Excel and sales analytics tools
  • Experience managing scaled teams and complex pipelines across multiple verticals
  • Experience shaping product or service strategies based on client feedback and market insights
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of navigating complex multi-party agreements

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.  Employees can also purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$194,500$356,600 USD
