VP, Business Development, Northwest Region

The Role

Do you enjoy engaging with advisors to increase their knowledge of Donor Advised Funds and efficient and effective charitable vehicles to grow the phenomenal tradition of American philanthropy? Does building relationships with advisors and key partners to become their first call in philanthropy excite you? You’ll work daily to provide valuable tax and charitable planning insight, philanthropic practice guidance, and create awareness of strategic charitable solutions, including the gifting of complex assets and the value of philanthropic consultation, to intermediaries and their clients committed to making more of a difference through comprehensive wealth management. You will also be responsible for making in-person calls and partnering with Specialist teams to drive new charitable planning referrals, Charitable Investment Advisor Program enrollments and retain intermediaries and their clients and grow Fidelity Charitable’s utilization within your territory to drive more grantmaking in your footprint and nationally.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Proven sales or fundraising track record

  • Interest/exposure to philanthropy, charitable fundraising and planned giving a plus

  • 10+ years Financial Service intermediary sales experience preferred (mutual funds, 401k, variable annuity wholesalers); estate/tax planning/trust experience a plus

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required, CFP and/or CAP preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills

  • Public speaking experience and skills

  • Solid time, territory management, and organizational skills to improve efficiency and productivity within region

  • Develop ongoing, productive relationships with key intermediaries and Fidelity distribution colleagues

  • Consulting on a wide range of strategic charitable solutions to assist advisors in their charitable practice and their clients in achieving their comprehensive wealth management goals, including  philanthropy

  • Introducing advisors and other intermediaries to new lines of philanthropy, including Private Equity, Alternative Investments, Corporate vehicles, and others

  • Collaborating with internal partners and Specialists on how to service these professionals and create more opportunities for us to partner with them going forward

  • Being a visible and credible presence in the territory – viewed as a specialist

  • Requirement to be located in and travel throughout territory: Northwest Region (Northern CA, AK, ID, OR, and WA)

The Team

The Fundraising organization within Fidelity Charitable (FC) is often the first call for all things philanthropic. Fundraisers tend to be the most visible face to both internal and external partners and donors of the organization. As the largest public charity in the nation and an integral provider of philanthropic services and planning, Fidelity Charitable is in the outstanding position to improve the personal philanthropic aspirations of the firm’s donors and the thousands of charitable organizations they are passionate about supporting. As a Fundraiser you will be responsible to collaborate with the advisors of current and future donors, grow the American tradition of charitable giving, and protect the brand and mission of the organization.

The base salary range for this position is $112,000-$255,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
