Job Description
We are seeking a Vice President, AI Platform Strategic Operations to lead a world-class Strategy & Operations team serving the AI Platform organization. This role is both a trusted advisor to the EVP of AI Platform and their leadership team and a builder of the operating system that enables our teams to execute today and transform for tomorrow.
You will partner with leaders across product, engineering, design, and GTM to ensure we deliver on the full potential of ServiceNow's AI Platform. This includes both foundational operational excellence (planning, portfolio management, operating rhythms, metrics) and reimagining the way we work in an AI-native world (embedding AI into decision-making, planning cycles, and value capture).
The ideal candidate combines executive presence, financial and operational acumen, and a proven ability to drive large-scale transformation in complex, fast moving environments.
The candidate must have an exceptional ability to lead and influence at the Executive level, excellent financial acumen, demonstrated success in driving ambiguous and complex initiatives and world-class operational execution skills. This role will lead on strategic, business, and operational aspects. Your team will solve complex business and product problems, orchestrate setting strategy, plan for execution, coordinate setting annual operating plans, and ensure execution through regular operating rhythms. Your work will span both directly monetized and non-monetized parts of the product portfolio. You will facilitate the product portfolio strategy, prioritization, and analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate innovation and drive impact by directly contributing to overall company business objectives.
What you get to do in this role:
  • Serve as a key partner to the EVP of AI Platform and leadership team on strategy, portfolio, and execution.
  • Lead the dual charter of running core operations with excellence (planning, governance, financial discipline, talent initiatives) and transforming the operating model to be AI-native, embedding AI into how we plan, prioritize, and execute.
  • Design and institutionalize repeatable operating mechanisms - annual and long-range planning, OKRs, portfolio reviews, and metrics dashboards - that drive speed, scale, and accountability.
  • Drive portfolio value management, linking investments to outcomes across monetized and non-monetized areas, and enabling faster trade-off and reinvestment decisions.
  • Lead large-scale transformation and change management, raising performance standards, evolving culture, and ensuring adoption of new ways of working.
  • Identify and capture value-creation opportunities, analyzing opportunities, aligning stakeholders, and coordinating delivery across functions.
  • Lead executive-level programs and initiatives, including communications, reviews, town halls, and talent engagement.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, inclusive Strategy & Operations team that scales with the growth and ambition of the AI Platform.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • 15-20+ years of relevant work experience (or 12+ years post-MBA or equivalent higher degree) in tech strategy/ops functions, management consulting, investment banking, or private equity.
  • Proven leadership of both operational excellence and large-scale transformation in a global tech or SaaS organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with C-level executives to design, run, and reimagine organizations in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to connect strategy to execution through business cases, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle, portfolio management, and goal systems (OKRs, KPIs) - with the ability to evolve them for an AI-native world.
  • Experience embedding AI or advanced analytics into operating models, planning, forecasting, or decision-making.
  • Exceptional change leadership skills: able to shape culture, raise performance standards, and drive adoption of new mechanisms at scale.
  • Track record of building and leading diverse, high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - equally comfortable in business and technical contexts.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
