Sales Focus: Growing Existing relationships

Sales Motion: Retain and Grow accounts

A VP, Account Management at Sago will work on our Insights team and will manage a portfolio of accounts. They handle the entire sales process for these accounts, from prospecting to identifying new buying centers, closing deals and managing the relationship post-sale. They need strong sales skills, the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Other responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of the service to clients and full end to end management of the business on individual clients including mitigating issues, solving for new ways of working and being commercially responsible for the account to drive gross margin and growth.
  • Looks for opportunities to view solutions in a new way and anticipates industry trends and improvements and contributes to industry growth
  • Demonstrate a genuine understanding of prospects' businesses and communicate solutions that address their needs.
  • Be a specialist in a methodology and deployed across multiple accounts or clients to enable specific growth areas. 
  • Has full understanding of Sago groups products, services and capabilities and can apply to satisfy client needs and project success requirements.
  • Manages client relationships and builds trust based on delivering exceptional results
  • Collaborates with client to assess, suggest, and develop an appropriate methodology or research approach based upon research need, pulls in senior level expertise as needed.
  • Provides fully comprehensive proposals including costs, detailed feasibility, and execution plan (recruitment/sample).
  • Completes project set up in a timely manner.
  • Follows up with clients on status of proposal/bids.
  • Meets and/or exceeds key metrics such as volume of bids and win rates.
  • Manages outsourcing partnerships across projects where appropriate.
  • Signs off on billing and invoicing, when necessary.
  • Based upon client input and assessment, recognizes the need to adapt a product or research approach to meet the client needs and works with appropriate internal resources to develop and design the appropriate solution.
  • Ensures that all internal team members (recruitment, programming, project management, data processing and facility) understand the research design and anticipated outcomes. Monitors the progress of the project at each critical stage to ensure successful completion.
  • Diplomatically responds to client issues and can professionally influence the appropriate internal resources to achieve the necessary outcome and/or knows when to elevate issues for resolution.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve overall project or client profitability.

Requirements

Skills Required: 

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Commerce and/or 7+ years of sales in the market research industry or an equivalent of both
  • 7+ years in Market Research
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients 
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions 
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities 
  • Proficient in analyzing sales data and market trends 
  • Has a deep understanding of products & how they support client needs
  • Experience working with consulting firms, marketing and ad agencies, and IP's
  • Proven, documented track record of consistently exceeding sales goals.
