Your Role

As a Visual/Graphic Designer, you leverage your passion and expertise as a Visual Designer to drive the design of our projects forward and enhance the human experience of the spaces and structures we design. Your role will be both hands-on – injecting progressive, strategic design-thinking into the work - as well as higher level oversight to guide the digital approach and execution as you partner with Gensler practice areas including architecture, interiors, brand, digital, and consulting to ensure digital design is thoughtfully considered and integrated within the overall design vision. You should be ready to present work to client stakeholders and represent our firm’s culture & principles. Additionally, you will provide direction and leadership to junior staff working on their project teams, scope design phases of projects accurately and efficiently, and attend pitches and industry events as required.

What You Will Do

  • Advocate for the application of visual storytelling through graphic and visual across a myriad of design opportunities
  • Collaborate with strategy and delivery teams to ensure design falls within project scope, feasibility, and delivery potential
  • Lead design conversation as you partner with other graphic designers, animators, artists, copywriters, architecture, and interior teams to deliver the various phases of a project
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on all creative endeavors
  • Share design concepts and creative materials with clients through crafted stories/presentations
  • Participate in business development, RFP responses, account growth, and practice area advancement
  • Develop, motivate, and mentor junior and other mid-level design professionals
  • Design trend research and presentations

Your Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of multi-platform design or related design experience
  • Demonstrated design success with integrated technology and digital content in physical spaces
  • Experience designing for digital products, systems and platforms
  • Heavy experience in applying design thinking to User Experience (UX) scenarios across product ecosystems (web, mobile, native app, etc) and physical/digital touchpoints as well (retail, hospitality, service design, etc)
  • Experience with the entire design lifecycle from concept to delivery and support
  • Experience managing and mentoring creative teams
  • Exceptional design sense and design strategy with the ability to provide clear, critical design reviews to project teams
  • Knowledge of digital design, development, standards, and solutions
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and serve as a trusted design leader
  • Prior experience with digital marketing agency, event marketing, tradeshows, or related experience design fields a plus
