Overview

Verkada is building a world-class Sales organization, and we want to make sure our teams not only understand our products and solutions, but also feel deeply connected to our company and our mission. And that is where you come into play! You will be a critical member of the team, developing dynamic, engaging, and effective video-based enablement content, animations, and engaging and motivating, sales-facing motivational videos. We run Sales Enablement differently at Verkada and give our team members autonomy and ownership to innovate and adapt to drive success. You'll work directly with our senior sales leadership, product marketing, and other internal stakeholders to transform complex information into easily digestible and memorable learning experiences, while reinforcing what it means to be a part of the Verkada team.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and Develop Video & Animated Content:
    • Conceive, script, shoot, and edit a wide range of video content for our sales teams, including but not limited to: SME interviews, product demonstrations, sales process walkthroughs, sales skill development, role-playing scenarios, and new hire onboarding modules.
    • Create engaging and informative animated videos, motion graphics, and other dynamic visual content to simplify complex concepts and enhance learning.
    • Translate complex sales strategies and product information into clear, concise, and compelling video and animated formats.
    • Utilize various production techniques (e.g., screen recording, live-action, animation, motion graphics) to create visually appealing and engaging content.
    • Ensure all video and animated content aligns with brand guidelines, company messaging, and sales enablement objectives.
  • Create General Sales Enablement Content:
    • Beyond video and animation, contribute to the development of other high-impact sales enablement content, which may include sales playbooks, battlecards, presentations, email templates, and internal communications that need a strong eye for detail.
    • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and brand across all content formats.
  • Collaborate and Strategize:
    • Partner with sales leadership, product marketing, sales operations, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify training and content needs, gather content requirements, and ensure accuracy of information.
    • Contribute to the overall sales enablement content strategy, identifying opportunities for video, animation, and other content integration and innovation.
    • Participate in content reviews and incorporate feedback to refine and improve training and enablement materials.
  • Manage and Optimize Content:
    • Organize and manage a library of video, animation, and other content assets, ensuring easy accessibility for the sales team.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest video production, animation, and content creation trends, tools, and best practices.
    • Analyze the effectiveness of training and enablement content through metrics and feedback, making data-driven improvements.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Participate in planning for quarterly and yearly sales kickoffs, providing direct support for the senior leadership team and Chief Revenue Officer in executing their goals.

What You Bring:

  • Proven Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in video production, animation, general content creation, or instructional design, with a strong portfolio showcasing video training content and animated examples.
    • Experience in a sales enablement or B2B sales environment is a significant plus.
  • Video & Animation Production Expertise:
    • Proficiency with professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
    • Strong experience with motion graphics and animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects or similar software) is highly desirable.
    • Solid understanding of video pre-production (storyboarding, scripting), production (lighting, audio, camera operation), and post-production workflows.
    • Experience with screen recording software (e.g., Camtasia, Loom, Zight, etc).
  • Content Creation Acumen:
    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and materials
    • Ability to create engaging narratives and structure content for optimal learning retention.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Creative & Problem Solver:
    • Highly creative with a keen eye for detail and visual storytelling.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
