At Boldin, we believe financial confidence should be accessible to everyone. Money decisions shape our lives, yet too often people are left without the clarity or tools they need to make informed choices. We exist to change that.

Boldin is a comprehensive financial planning platform that helps people understand their financial picture, make smarter decisions with their money and time, and plan for the future with confidence.

With over $20M raised and strong momentum, Boldin is entering a pivotal phase of growth. This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven team and help shape the future.

About the Role

Video is becoming a core growth and education channel at Boldin.

We are hiring a Video Specialist to build and lead our video engine — from performance-driven acquisition creative to product explainers to founder-led thought leadership.

This role sits within the Brand team and works cross-functionally with Product, Support, Growth, and Leadership to ensure our video content drives clarity, trust, and measurable business impact.

You will own video strategy, planning, and execution. That includes defining priorities, managing the content calendar, producing high-performing creative, and continuously improving results based on performance data.

This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility and leverage. The right person will help define how Boldin communicates complex financial ideas clearly — and how video supports acquisition, product adoption, and long-term brand authority.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Own Boldin’s Video Strategy, Planning, and Prioritization

Own the vision, roadmap, and calendar for all video content at Boldin. Determine what we produce, why we produce it, and how it supports user growth, education, and conversion. Coordinate across Growth, Product, and Brand to ensure video is timely, impactful, and strategically aligned.

Lead end-to-end video production across performance, product, and brand — from concept to final edit. Identify emerging content trends and develop brand-relevant concepts. Build a repeatable, scalable video system that supports growth and education.

2. Create High-Performing Short- and Long-Form Video Content

In partnership with our entire team, develop, test, and iterate short- and long-term video for distribute across our owned and earned channels – YouTube, socials, our own blog and marketing site, within the product, and through the press including:

  • CEO thought pieces
  • Translation of our extensive library of articles into video content
  • Financial concept explainers from our CFP® professionals and coaches
  • Product demos
  • Team highlight videos
  • And, more…
3. Create High-Performing Paid Video Creative

In addition to content for our earned and owned channels, we would like your support developing video ads for our paid media. Optimize hooks, pacing, and storytelling based on performance data in close collaboration with Growth.

KPIS + Targets
  • Earned and owned KPIs in organic and paid media.
Professional Expectations
  • Operational excellence
  • Product Activation and Retention
Qualifications:

You are both creative and analytical. You understand how storytelling, design, and performance marketing intersect — and you care deeply about clarity.

You likely bring:

  • 3+ years of professional video production and editing experience (in-house, agency, or creator-led environment) for end users, not B2B.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating:
    • Performance-driven paid ad creative
    • Product explainers or SaaS walkthroughs
    • Expert-led first-person content
  • Experience building repeatable content systems — not just one-off videos
  • An enthusiasm for the potential operational efficiencies that AI enables in this role
  • A track record of improving engagement, retention, or conversion through video
  • Strong instincts around story telling – pacing, hooks, and narrative structure – and platform-native formats
  • Comfort simplifying complex or technical topics into clear visual storytelling
  • Proficiency in professional editing and motion tools (Premiere, Final Cut, After Effects, DaVinci, or similar)
  • Familiarity with YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, and short-form formats
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Growth, Product, and Brand teams
  • A bias toward action — able to move quickly without sacrificing quality
Bonus (but not required):
  • Experience in fintech, financial education, SaaS, or consumer subscription products
  • Motion graphics and light animation capability
  • Comfort working directly with founders on camera coaching and content shaping
  • Familiarity with performance dashboards and A/B testing frameworks
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Be able to own video end-to-end — concept, scripting, production, editing, and publishing
  • Operate independently in a fast-moving environment with high accountability
  • Balance creative quality with performance outcomes
  • Be comfortable receiving and incorporating direct feedback
  • Be highly organized and capable of managing a production calendar
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Care deeply about accuracy and clarity — especially when explaining financial concepts

This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility and impact. You must be comfortable working closely with leadership while maintaining strong ownership over your craft.

This is a fully remote position and is intended to be 1099 contract to hire.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
