About the Role

Eleven Media is looking for an experienced News Producer to lead the development of original video coverage across news, politics, and current affairs. The role involves researching important stories, identifying strong editorial angles, writing and refining scripts, coordinating production, and working closely with talent, producers, and editors to deliver accurate and engaging short-form and long-form videos.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce original short-form and long-form videos covering U.S. politics, public affairs, and major national and global developments.
  • Research assigned stories and provide senior producers with accurate background, key developments, source material, potential angles, and relevant footage.
  • Develop video segments from initial research and scripting through production, editing, and publication.
  • Write and refine scripts, interview questions, talent briefs, and segment outlines.
  • Work closely with U.S.-based on-camera talent and producers to prepare interviews, explainers, analysis, and other video coverage.
  • Coordinate with producers and video editors in India to keep projects aligned, accurate, and on schedule.
  • Help identify relevant guests, experts, correspondents, and other contributors for interviews and commentary.
  • Identify the strongest editorial angles, soundbites, visual elements, and supporting material for each story.
  • Monitor U.S. political developments, breaking news, social trends, and competitor coverage to identify timely opportunities.
  • Review videos for editorial accuracy, clarity, pacing, visual quality, and consistency with McGill Media’s standards.
  • Verify third-party footage, secure or confirm the necessary rights and permissions, and ensure correct attribution.
  • Review audience performance and apply insights from watch time, retention, reach, and engagement to future videos.
  • Communicate clearly across teams in the United States and India and remain flexible during major political events and breaking news.


What You Will Need

  • Experience producing short-form and long-form digital news videos, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. politics, public affairs, elections, and major national and global developments.
  • Excellent research, fact-checking, editorial judgment, and scriptwriting skills.
  • The ability to turn complex stories into clear, accurate, and engaging video content.
  • Experience working with on-camera talent, producers, video editors, experts, and other contributors.
  • A strong understanding of visual storytelling, including the selection of soundbites, footage, and supporting material.
  • Knowledge of YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, including audience engagement and video performance metrics.
  • Close attention to sourcing, attribution, copyright, footage rights, and permissions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple productions and meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to collaborate across India and U.S. time zones, with flexibility during breaking news and major political events.
