Content Director — Lotus AI (Los Angeles)

About Lotus

Lotus is building the future of primary care with AI, backed by Kleiner Perkins and CRV. We've found real product market fit and are growing fast, combining clinical rigor with a product experience that actually feels human. Now we're building out the team to match that momentum, and the people we hire now will shape what Lotus looks and feels like for years to come.

The Role

We're looking for the brains behind every video we make.

You own content strategy and production end to end: you pick the stories worth telling (patient successes, our doctors, our founder), you build the programs and calendars behind them, and you run the shoots that bring them to life. You used to be the maker, and you still can be when it counts, but now you direct. You've built content that actually gained traction: viral formats, repeatable series, founder or personality-driven programs, and you have the numbers to prove it.

Your range runs from social-first formats to cinematic brand pieces. You understand hooks, retention, and why a video actually works, not just how to make it look good.

This is a founding role on our new LA office team. You'll set the tone for how Lotus tells stories from day one.

What we're looking for

  • Produced content with real, provable traction: viral formats, repeatable series, founder or personality-driven programs, backed by numbers

  • Strategy and execution both: can shoot and edit well enough to ship a piece solo, even as you shift into directing

  • Range across social-first content and cinematic brand work, with social performance as the baseline

  • A sharp read on audience psychology: hooks, retention, and why a video works, not just how it looks

  • A contractor network you can activate fast, crewing a shoot on short notice

  • A track record of doing more with less budget than most teams manage with far more

If this is you, we want to talk.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
