Video Editor - Paid Social Ads & Property Content (Remote / Full-Time Contract)

We're a fast paced, growth oriented real estate company looking for a Video Editor to join our team on a long-term, ongoing basis. This role reports directly to the Marketing Manager. Your main focus will be editing short-form video ads for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and other paid social platforms that stop the scroll and keep viewers watching to the end. You'll also produce other video content, including YouTube videos featuring our properties and video walkthroughs of our units and communities.

We provide all the footage. For ads, you'll receive the hook, meat, and CTA clips. Your job is to put them together and make them as effective as possible.

What we're looking for:
You understand that a great ad is built around a strong hook, tight pacing, and a clear call to action. You know how to take raw clips and turn them into an ad that grabs attention in the first 1-3 seconds, holds it with pattern interrupts, captions, B-roll, and sound design, and drives the viewer to act. You're equally comfortable shifting gears to longer-form content, like a property showcase or unit walkthrough, that presents our communities in their best light. You're proactive, take ownership of your work, and deliver polished edits without needing your hand held.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assemble supplied hook, meat, and CTA footage into high-performing short-form ads for Meta, TikTok, and other paid social platforms
  • Mix and match hooks and CTAs to create multiple ad variations for testing
  • Enhance all audio using Adobe Podcast before final edit
  • Edit YouTube videos featuring our properties
  • Produce unit and property video walkthroughs from supplied footage
  • Add captions, motion graphics, B-roll, music, and sound effects
  • Format content for every placement (9:16, 4:5, 1:1, 16:9)
  • Support other video and marketing tasks as needed

Requirements
  • Proven experience editing direct response or performance video ads
  • Strong understanding of hooks, retention, and pacing for short-form content
  • Experience editing long-form content (YouTube, walkthroughs, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
  • Ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines
  • Excellent written communication (a daily progress update to the Marketing Manager is required)
  • Reliable, self motivated, and coachable
  • Must be able to work 9 AM to 5 PM EST, 40+ hours/week

Bonus:

  • Real estate/property video editing experience

Benefits

Compensation:
$15-20/hour to start. Performance reviews every 6 months with pay increases based on performance.

How to Apply:

Please send the following:

  1. Links to at least 3 video ads you've created (more is better). For each one, tell us what your role was and, if you know them, how it performed
  2. Any long-form examples (YouTube videos, walkthroughs, property or brand content) if you have them
  3. A brief overview of your experience and why you'd be a great fit for this role

A 2-minute Loom video introducing yourself is strongly encouraged and will help your application stand out. Applications without at least 3 video ad examples will not be considered. Please note: applications with entirely AI generated copy will not be considered.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
