How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice

The Creative team serves as the visual catalyst for Paula’s Choice, shaping how millions of customers discover, engage with, and shop our brand across our ecosystem. We are seeking a Video Editor / Motion Designer to bring our brand to life through compelling, high‑quality video and motion content across digital, social, and e‑commerce channels.

This role blends strong editorial instincts with thoughtful motion design, supporting everything from product education and campaigns to social storytelling and paid media.

You’ll partner closely with brand design, marketing, product, and social teams to translate complex skincare science into engaging, on‑brand visual narratives—while maintaining consistency within the Paula’s Choice visual system.

As a Video Editor & Motion Designer a typical day will include a mix of the following:

Video Editing & Motion Design

  • Edit and produce short‑ and long‑form video content across channels including social, paid media, e‑commerce, email, and brand campaigns
  • Design and animate motion graphics that align with Paula’s Choice brand standards, typography, and visual language
  • Create motion systems for recurring content formats (product education, routines, testimonials, launches)
  • Apply strong pacing, rhythm, and storytelling to elevate clarity and engagement

Creative Collaboration

  • Partner with Brand Design, Copy, Social, and Marketing to interpret briefs and deliver polished, on‑strategy assets
  • Collaborate early in campaign planning to identify motion‑first opportunities and creative efficiencies
  • Participate in creative reviews, contributing ideas and solutions that strengthen the final output

Brand & Quality Stewardship

  • Ensure all video and motion assets adhere to the Paula’s Choice Brand Book and visual identity guidelines
  • Maintain a high bar for craft, consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail—especially in educational or science‑led content
  • Adapt assets for multiple formats and platforms while preserving intent and quality

Production & Workflow

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timelines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Organize project files, templates, and motion libraries to support scalability and team efficiency
  • Stay current on motion design, editing tools, and platform best practices to continuously evolve our content

The Details:  

  • Location: We are based in Seattle, WA. While we prefer local candidates, we are flexible on location 
  • Hours: Typical PST business hours, some flexibility required 
  • Physical requirements: Ability to handle both sitting and screen time for long periods of time  
  • Travel requirements: Minimal travel may be required for team meetings or events 

Who You Are: 

  • A thoughtful visual storyteller who balances creativity with clarity and purpose
  • Highly detail‑oriented, with a strong sense of timing, composition, and brand consistency
  • Comfortable translating complex information into accessible, engaging motion content
  • Collaborative, open to feedback, and proactive in offering creative solutions
  • Organized and self‑directed, with the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • 4+ years of experience in video editing and motion design (brand, agency, or in‑house)
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator
  • Experience creating content for digital, social, and e‑commerce platforms
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy in motion
  • Familiarity with brand systems and working within established guidelines

*A portfolio or reel demonstrating video editing and motion design work is required.*

Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:

$70,000 - $86,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
