Our USWA (US Wealth Advisory) team establishes relationships with wealth management firms and platforms to distribute BlackRock's alpha-seeking and iShares investment capabilities and drives the adoption of BlackRock's portfolio construction and digital wealth technologies by financial advisors. The team has roughly 200 colleagues between Boston, Princeton, San Francisco, and Atlanta. Come join our team and experience what it feels like to be part of an organization that makes a difference.

We serve institutional and retail clients in more than 60 countries, including pension funds, foundations, endowments, official institutions, insurance companies, sub- advisory relationships, high net worth individuals, family offices, and private banks. Further, we work to cultivate relationships with key distributors of our investment products, such as broker-dealers, banks, registered investment advisers, financial planners, insurance companies and building societies.

Alternative Investments, Cash Management, Financial Institutions, Global Consultant Relations, International, Institutional Product & Investment Communications, Private Client, Real Estate, Capital Markets, Pensions/Tax-Exempt, and Wealth Management are some of the key global product units, client business units, and global cross- channel teams that together form BlackRock’s premier Client Businesses Group.

Responsibilities

As a Divisional Sales Desk Manager, you will develop a team of Sales Professionals with varying levels of experience and responsibilities. Leading individuals ranging from entry level Analysts assisting with day-to-day sales functions and handling inbound calls to more senior Internals with distinct roles on high-performing Market Teams. You will be responsible for holding each role accountable for their goals and objectives while driving toward a positive sales result. In addition, you will partner with all levels of management across the US Wealth Advisory to drive strategic initiatives and exceed sales targets. The teams will be primarily focused on advisors in the Core Broker/Dealer segment but may grow to other segments as team evolves.

  • Serve as team leader and provide individualized mentoring to all roles within the team

  • Collaborate and strategize with a Divisional Field Sales Manager and the broader Sales Desk leadership team to implement and drive effective division of labor, role accountability, sales execution & teamwork

  • Foster and drive a client-focused culture passionate about results, teamwork, respect, and integrity

  • Conduct team meetings and discussions to facilitate idea sharing/best practices and improve sales acumen

  • Assist in implementing periodic Sales Desk initiatives around Market Team efficiency, thematic selling, partner firm coordination and territory management

  • Represent the Sales Desk through periodic presentations and client meetings

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Wealth Management sales leadership experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, CIMA, CFP, CRPS, ARPC a plus)

  • 5+ years relevant financial services experience preferred

  • Series 7 and 66 required

  • Series 24 required or must be obtained within licensing time frame after hire

  • Leadership experience with proven ability to motivate team members in a sales capacity

  • Ability to multitask and work under tight time constraints

  • Sales acumen and wholesaling experience preferred

  • Good comprehension of the retail distribution process

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to adopt and implement new technologies quickly

  • Strong familiarity with computer applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

  • Excellent listening and profiling skills

  • Demonstrate understanding of capital markets across all facets

  • Client focused with the ability to delegate responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

  • Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$180,000.00 - USD$180,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
