About Private Health Management

Private Health Management (PHM), a clinically sophisticated healthcare navigation firm, specializes in assisting clients in obtaining the best care and outcomes when facing serious and complex medical conditions. Individuals and businesses who make health a priority rely on PHM to achieve the best of what's possible in medicine. We believe everyone should benefit from the latest science-backed insights, have access to the best diagnostics, specialists, and treatments, and receive independent guidance to make informed health decisions with confidence.

About the Role

As the Vice President of Strategic Account Management, you will build and lead a high-performing team responsible for deepening client relationships, driving renewals and revenue expansion inside existing clients, and delivering exceptional outcomes to our Employer Benefits & Payor clients. You’ll set the strategic vision for account management, provide leadership and mentorship to a high performing team of AMs, oversee execution across a portfolio of key employer relationships, and serve as a senior advisor to clients navigating complex healthcare challenges.

This is a player-coach role: while leading your team of Strategic Account Managers you’ll also directly manage some of PHM’s most critical relationships and always be willing to step up to the plate when the scenario demands it. You'll work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and service delivery teams to ensure that our partners realize the full value of PHM's services—and that our offerings evolve in response to their strategic needs.

What You’ll Accomplish

Team & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing Strategic Account Management team, fostering excellence in client engagement, retention, and growth.
  • Establish performance goals, provide mentorship, and ensure team members are aligned with PHM’s strategic priorities and core values.
  • Partner with cross-functional executives on evolving client strategy, service delivery, and revenue planning.

Client Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the executive sponsor for a portfolio of key accounts, building trusted advisor relationships with senior benefits leaders and decision-makers.
  • Drive long-term engagement by aligning PHM’s services with each client’s broader health and benefits strategy.
  • Provide strategic reporting and insights that clearly communicate clinical outcomes, financial outcomes and member engagement.

Revenue Growth & Expansion

  • Own retention and expansion of PHM’s largest and most strategic client relationships.
  • Partner with sales to identify and execute upsell opportunities and expand PHM's footprint within existing accounts.
  • Lead commercial strategy across renewals, contract negotiations, and benefit ecosystem integrations.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic account management or enterprise relationship leadership—preferably within healthcare, benefits, or health tech.
  • Proven success leading a team of client-facing professionals and scaling high-impact account programs.
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • High technology literacy and ability to lead data-driven discussions around value, performance, and impact.
  • A strong sense of ownership, strategic thinking, and passion for improving complex care navigation.
  • Availability and ability to travel regularly.

Compensation, Benefits, & Work Environment

  • Total On-Target Earnings (OTE): $205,000 – $280,000
  • Base Salary Range: $170,000 – $200,000
  • Health/dental/vision benefits, 401k with match, flexible PTO, world-class care navigation services, and other benefits
  • This is a remote role that requires significant travel and that you live in one of the following states where we currently have business operations: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MA, MI, MO, NJ, NC, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
