About the Role

The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for leading and developing the State Sales team to meet and exceed sales targets within the United States. The Vice President of Sales will manage a team of State Sales Directors/Account Executives who are responsible for winning complex sales within State and Local Government Agencies. The ability to lead a diverse sales team, create value, deliver a market differentiating customer experience, and drive adoption of a broad portfolio will be critical to success. This role will manage the operational rigor and structure of complex sales cycles, identify and manage leading indicators, manage the forecasting and demand generation processes, coach and develop the sales team, and meet or exceed quota by closing business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes Strategic Sales Plans for the State Sales team, engaging leaders at state and local agencies.
  • Leads and develops a State Sales team/Account Executives, fostering a culture of continuous achievement and overachievement.
  • Ensures consistent monthly and quarterly forecast delivery, leveraging methodologies like MEDDPICC.
  • Implements operational rigor through established cadences, reporting, metrics, and disciplined execution.
  • Drives pipeline development and opportunity management.
  • Fosters strong executive presence, promoting humble self-confidence and timely decision-making.
  • Cultivates effective collaboration and communication within the sales team and across other departments.
  • Ensures accountability within the team by clearly defining ownership and monitoring results.
  • Attracts, retains and develops talent through continuous recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and development of sales team members.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct large scale solution selling and closing enterprise opportunities with State and Local Agencies.
  • Experience creating partnerships and alliances with System Integrators, technology companies, and other organizations to win programs in the SLED space.
  • Knowledge of and proven experience moving deals through State and Local government procurement processes and contracts.
  • Knowledge of funding sources and processes and ability to cultivate those sources.
  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and data/analytics.
  • 5-10+ years leading Software Sales teams serving Enterprise customers.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
