  • Ensure strong coordination between sales, delivery, product, and customer success to deliver exceptional client outcomes and long‑term partnerships.
New Logo & Strategic Pursuits
  • Lead select, high‑value new‑logo pursuits that align with RI’s priority growth markets and three‑year strategic plan.
  • Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities that represent transformational growth potential for RI.
  • Own pursuit strategy for assigned opportunities, including win themes, deal strategy, executive engagement, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner closely with Proposal Development, Sales Operations, and Solutioning teams to drive disciplined, high‑quality pursuit execution.
Expansion, Retention & Revenue Performance

  • Maintain strong customer retention by proactively managing client health, performance issues, and renewal strategies.
  • Be accountable for sales targets, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy across assigned accounts and pursuits.
  • Ensure deals are structured for long‑term profitability and scalable delivery, in collaboration with finance and delivery leadership.
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a senior leader within RI’s commercial organization, helping shape sales strategy, account governance, and growth priorities.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Strategy, Customer Success, and Delivery leaders to align go‑to‑market efforts and customer strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Sales Directors, Account Directors, and pursuit teams as needed.
  • Represent RI externally at key client meetings, industry forums, and strategic partner engagements.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or strategic account management focused on clients in the energy, utilities, and clean energy sectors.
  • Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 50%.
  • Proven track record of owning and growing large, complex strategic accounts over multiple years.
  • Demonstrated success leading high‑value new‑logo pursuits and complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Experience driving expansion growth and retention within existing enterprise customers.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust and influence at the C‑suite and senior leadership levels.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
