What The RQA Group At BlackRock Has

  • A team of outstanding risk managers who partner with portfolio management teams to oversee our clients’ portfolios.

Real Asset Risk Management Team

You will partner with the Real Asset businesses to deliver independent risk oversight, risk advice, and provide quantitative analysis to assist with portfolio construction, performance measurement, product design and investor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to assess and challenge risk exposures across infrastructure assets, ensuring alignment with client mandates and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide independent oversight by monitoring risk concentrations, stress scenarios, and liquidity profiles specific to infrastructure investments.
  • Support senior risk managers in evaluating the consistency of infrastructure portfolio risks with stated investment objectives and risk tolerances.
  • Conduct regular reviews of portfolio risk metrics, including sensitivity to macroeconomic variables such as interest rates, inflation, and regulatory changes that impact infrastructure sectors.
  • Deliver insights on how market dynamics, geopolitical developments, and policy shifts influence infrastructure asset valuations and risk-return profiles.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of infrastructure-specific risk models and scenario frameworks to support investment decision-making and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as finance, economics, business, or real estate; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a risk or investment role focused on real assets, particularly infrastructure and/or real estate.
  • Strong understanding of real asset investment processes, including asset-level underwriting, portfolio construction, capital structure analysis, and risk-return trade-offs across core, core-plus, value-add, and opportunistic strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience with scenario analysis, stress testing, and performance attribution in the context of illiquid assets, including sensitivity to macroeconomic drivers such as interest rates, inflation, and regulatory shifts.
  • A passion for applying quantitative techniques to real-world investment challenges, with a deep understanding of risk factor models relevant to infrastructure and real estate, including their limitations and applications in benchmarking and allocation analysis.
  • Proven ability to engage with portfolio managers and deal teams, offering credible risk insights and influencing investment decisions through clear, data-driven communication.
  • Familiarity with risk systems and tools used in real asset investing; experience with BlackRock’s Aladdin or similar platforms is a strong plus.
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
