About Aurora Solar

Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

We’ve been named one of "The Best Remote Companies To Work for in 2025" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We’re in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.

About the Team

We’re the team behind the engine powering how solar and storage projects are designed, and sold at scale. With deep expertise across software, solar, and AI, we build tools that turn complexity into clarity for our customers.

Our work sits at the heart of Aurora. We enable users to model real-world environments, design photovoltaic (PV) and storage systems, and move projects confidently from proposal through permit. From intelligent automation to 3D modeling to electrical simulation, we focus on making solar sale and design processes efficient, accurate, and more cost effective.

You’ll join a collaborative, high-performing team that moves quickly, challenges assumptions, and stays grounded in customer impact. Together, we’re shaping the future of solar and storage, and accelerating the transition to clean energy.

About the Role

Aurora is seeking a Vice President of Product & Design to lead a team of high performing product and design practitioners through the next phase of our product strategy as we build and scale new solar and storage software solutions across our platform. This role is accountable for collaborating across the organization to set the product vision, market validation, and driving execution in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Reporting to the CEO, and a member of the leadership team, you will own the why, what, and what's next behind Aurora’s product portfolio, translating our mission of creating a future of solar and storage for all into differentiated, market-leading software. You will operate at the intersection of customer needs, industry dynamics, and technical possibility balancing near-term impact with long-term platform bets.

This is a hands-on, people-centered leadership role for a product executive who thrives in ambiguity, actively coaches and develops product and design leaders, and builds strong cross-functional partnerships to deliver durable, high-impact products in complex, real-world industries like solar.

Drive Execution & Outcomes
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, measurable goals, and shipped products

  • Establish and track product & design KPIs including adoption, retention, time-to-value, customer satisfaction, and revenue impact

Be the Voice of the Solar Customer

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
