About Hatch

Hatch is the AI growth engine for service businesses, trusted by 2,000+ brands in home services and home improvement. The Hatch platform unifies voice, SMS, and email powered by AI and automation, delivering best-in-class lead management, re-engagement, and operational tools to home services pros.

Role Overview

We’re seeking an ambitious, data-driven VP of Marketing to lead and expand Hatch’s marketing efforts in the rapidly growing AI SaaS sector for home services. The VP, Marketing will drive strategic brand positioning, demand generation, and customer growth—establishing Hatch as the market leader in AI-powered lead management.

Recently acquired by Yelp, Hatch operates as a standalone product and is expanding our reach to help thousands more businesses unlock the revenue sitting in their lead pipeline. We've driven $5.1B in revenue for our customers—and we're just getting started.

What you'll do:

  • Product Positioning & Messaging: Own and refine Hatch’s product positioning and messaging. Ensure all communications highlight our unique value in AI-driven lead management, 24/7 call handling, and unified communication for service businesses.

  • Demand Generation: Oversee all demand generation campaigns across digital, content, and especially industry events to drive qualified leads and pipeline growth. Ensure Hatch is recognized at key conferences, trade shows, and community gatherings as the leader and trusted partner for AI-powered lead management in home services.

  • Brand Leadership: Strengthen the Hatch brand as the market leader in AI-driven customer communication and lead management for service businesses.

  • Product Marketing: Partner with product and growth teams to define value propositions, messaging, competitive differentiation, and successful product launches.

  • Content: Lead a team to deliver compelling thought leadership content, playbooks, webinars, and case studies, leveraging customer success and industry trends.

  • Performance & Analytics: Set KPIs, manage budgets, and analyze campaign and pipeline performance to inform strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing, cross-functional marketing team.

What it takes to succeed:

  • You are scrappy, hands-on, and ready to build from the ground up—willing to dive in head first to establish the marketing function, processes, and foundational team.

  • You thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments, and you aren’t afraid to try new things or pivot as needed.

  • You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves on tactical work as you are building and scaling your team.

  • You see yourself as THE marketing leader—owning the function, setting the vision, and being accountable for results.

  • You are comfortable working with a CEO who is product-led but has limited direct marketing expertise; you're ready to educate, influence, and drive the strategy independently.

  • A strong sense of ownership, grit, and the ability to motivate and lead by example.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally with experience in AI, lead management, or home services verticals.

  • Demonstrated success in building pipeline and brand presence in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

  • Data-driven mindset with expertise in marketing analytics and performance optimization.

  • Experience leading teams across content, demand generation, and product marketing.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • Proficiency with modern MarTech (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, analytics/BI platforms, etc.).

  • Passion for driving real customer impact through technology and operational excellence.

What you'll get:

  • Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental

  • 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday

  • Up to 14 weeks of parental leave

  • Monthly wellness subsidy

  • Work from home reimbursement

  • Flexible spending account

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan

  • Employee stock purchase plan

  • Compensation range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.

Why Hatch?

  • Be a core leader at a company transforming how service businesses communicate and convert with AI.

  • Work with industry-leading customers and a visionary team, committed to innovating every part of the customer journey.

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits package.

  • Opportunity to define the next decade of AI-driven marketing in service industries.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
