AfterShip, recognized as a Great Place to Work Certified company, is at the forefront of transforming the global eCommerce landscape. Our mission is to empower eCommerce retailers to create and manage the world’s best online shopping experiences. Powering over 4.4 billion shipment trackings for over 20,000 global brands like Etsy, Harry’s, and Gymshark, AfterShip revolutionizes how businesses engage with customers after purchase. We are pioneering AI-driven post-purchase solutions, from smart shipment tracking and returns management to personalized product recommendations and AI-powered delivery estimates.

Having secured a $66 million Series B in 2021, we are accelerating our growth and continuing to shape the future of eCommerce.

At AfterShip, we are building a diverse and high-performing culture that encourages collaboration and experimentation on a global scale. Even as a company with over 10 years under our belt and 450 AfterShippers across our 8 global offices, we embrace a dynamic and agile approach to our work.

We operate with a flat team structure, where you will have opportunities to contribute your ideas and take ownership over your work to create meaningful impact for the business and the customers we serve. If you’re looking for a vehicle to achieve your professional goals and work alongside fantastic teams, we invite you to join us.

Role Overview:

As Vice President of Marketing at AfterShip, you will be a key leadership figure driving AfterShip’s growth and global impact. Imagine crafting transformative marketing strategies for a globally recognized B2B SaaS company that partners with industry-leading brands like Mejuri, LEGO, Samsung, and Dr.Squatch. This is your opportunity to redefine AfterShip’s market positioning and lead initiatives that fuel innovation and growth.

This is a critical executive role for a hands-on, full-stack marketing leader with a proven track record in B2B SaaS. You will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of marketing - from demand generation and product marketing to brand strategy and communications.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who leads with data, acts with urgency, and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves. This is an ideal role for a Director+ level leader with at least 3+ years of experience managing marketing teams and a desire to build and scale a high-performing function across North America and APAC.

 Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Execution

  • Define and lead the global marketing strategy aligned with AfterShip’s business goals and go-to-market priorities.
  • Own the full marketing funnel, integrating brand, product marketing, demand generation, content, communications, and events.
  • Develop scalable campaigns and programs that drive pipeline growth, customer engagement, and market leadership.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build, lead, and mentor a cross-functional marketing team across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to drive aligned, integrated GTM initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Product & Customer Marketing

  • Refine AfterShip’s positioning, messaging, and value proposition across diverse customer segments.
  • Lead competitive analysis and segmentation strategies to support enterprise and mid-market sales motions.
  • Translate technical product features into clear, differentiated customer benefits.

Data-Driven Growth & Optimization

  • Manage marketing performance metrics, reporting frameworks, and ROI analysis.
  • Leverage data to optimize spend, messaging, and targeting across all marketing channels.
  • Continuously improve funnel efficiency and campaign effectiveness with a test-and-learn mindset.

QualificationsRequired Experience

  • 10+ years in B2B marketing with at least 3 years in a people management role leading high-performing teams.
  • Recent and relevant experience in B2B SaaS marketing, with direct ownership of multiple marketing functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels—comfortable building with limited resources.
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Expertise in modern marketing technology stacks (e.g., HubSpot, GA, Salesforce, etc.).

Preferred Attributes

  • Background in eCommerce, logistics, or customer experience technology is a plus.
  • Ideally based on the West Coast of North America to align with global stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, executive presence, and collaboration skills across technical and commercial teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
