Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Building relationships with sources of potential deal flow for real estate investment opportunities (e.g. healthcare systems, physician groups, developers, institutional sellers, other private sellers).

  • Ongoing refinement of the Firm’s marketing program to source off-market acquisition opportunities.

  • Assisting Firm’s leadership team in the establishment of underwriting criteria for all acquisition opportunities.

  • Preparing Investment Committee Memoranda.

  • Presenting prospective acquisition opportunities to the Firm’s Investment Committee.

  • Providing support for all acquisition and financing related activities including:

    • Underwriting and structuring prospective investment opportunities within established underwriting parameters.

    • Negotiation of letter of intents and term sheets with prospective sellers and developers of real estate.

    • Negotiation of purchase and sale related documentation.

    • Preparation of lender solicitation packages.

    • Ensuring that leases are negotiated on terms acceptable to the Firm’s for all sale/leaseback transactions.

    • The performance of comprehensive due diligence associated with real estate acquisition activities.

    • Facilitation of investment closing processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Vice President of Acquisitions will be responsible for mentoring and training a deal team comprised of investment and capital markets associates and transaction coordinators.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, or real estate, and a minimum of 10 years of experience associated with the sourcing, underwriting, documentation, financing, due diligence and closing of real estate investments. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in real estate or finance.

  • Demonstrable track record of establishing relationships with prospective providers of deal flow including owners, developers, brokers and healthcare providers.

  • Ability to negotiate and close deals.

  • Strong mentorship capabilities. Displays sound judgment, problem solving skills, and independent thinking and decision-making ability.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Must be a self-directed individual who is disciplined in the oversight of details yet possesses a “big picture” perspective.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required.
