About Epirus

Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques that allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.

Job Summary: The Vice President, Growth will drive Epirus’ expansion from $50M to over $1B in annual revenue, building and leading a world-class global sales organization that spans defense and commercial government markets. Reporting to the SVP of Growth & Government Affairs and working closely with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership, this executive will align strategy and execution across product sales, defense contracting, and commercial government channels. This is a highly visible, results-driven role that demands both strategic vision and operational precision. The ideal candidate will translate congressional budget appropriations into actionable revenue streams, position Epirus as a dominant player in the emerging “Neo Prime” ecosystem, and lead growth in the rapidly evolving counter-drone and directed energy markets.

 Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Growth & Strategy
    • Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy to scale revenue from $50M to $1B+, with a balanced portfolio across defense and commercial government sales.
    • Systematically translate congressional appropriations and defense budget allocations into targeted sales opportunities.
    • Position Epirus as a leader in the Neo Prime space and leverage emerging DoD procurement reforms to maximize market share.
  • Leadership & Team Building
    • Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performance global sales organization, including direct reports, regional leads, consultants, resellers, and channel partners.
    • Build cross-functional alignment with Finance, Programs, Engineering, and Operations to ensure a single, unified operating picture for the company.
    • Serve as a key coordination layer between strategic planning and day-to-day tactical execution.
  • Market Development
    • Deepen Epirus’ presence in SHORAD mission areas and with key customers including the Army’s PEO Missiles and Space in Huntsville.
    • Expand domestic and international market share in drone and counter-drone solutions.
    • Maintain deep customer intimacy with U.S. DoD stakeholders, allied defense ministries, and commercial government buyers.
  • Partnerships, M&A, and Ecosystem Engagement
    • Identify and manage strategic partnerships, including OEMs, primes, integrators, and emerging tech firms.
    • Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments to accelerate growth.
    • Drive competitive positioning in the evolving directed energy market by clearly articulating Leonidas’ capabilities and limitations.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a senior executive interface with customers, congressional stakeholders, and industry partners.
    • Represent Epirus at key trade shows, industry events, and high-level meetings with U.S. and allied defense leadership.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Proven track record leading growth for both product companies and defense contracting sales organizations.
  • 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with significant time in U.S. DoD and commercial government markets.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. Army acquisition processes, SHORAD mission sets, PEO Missiles and Space (Huntsville), and drone/counter-drone solutions.
  • Strong understanding of directed energy systems—able to clearly communicate what weaponized HPM is and is not.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert congressional budget lines into targeted sales campaigns and measurable revenue.
  • Experience operating in a hyper-growth environment and scaling a company toward $1B+ revenue.
  • Familiarity with the emerging Neo Prime ecosystem and new DoD procurement models under the current administration.
  • History of managing complex partner ecosystems, including resellers, consultants, and strategic alliances.
  • Strong business acumen with M&A exposure.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively ~50% if based in DC; ~75% if outside of DC

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
