What team will you be on?

The Trading business executes trades on behalf of all portfolio management teams at the firm. The team is organized along regions and asset classes, providing the best service to our investment teams and achieving optimal outcomes for our clients. Why is your role important?

The Foreign Exchange market trades over $5 trillion notional per day and can impact all major asset classes in the investment arena. BlackRock manages various mandates that will facilitate currency transactions including: Covering asset transactions and repatriation of income, hedging, currency overlay and active currency management.

The FX Trading team within Trading is seeking an FX trader to support investment activities in New York. The successful candidate will have a strong technical skills and the ability to interact effectively with other traders and portfolio managers, multiple internal groups, and the sell-side, in order to provide best execution, maintenance, and market flow information for investment activities in FX markets.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with other FX traders to provide best execution across a range of FX instruments, including spot, forwards, options, and cross currency swaps for all BlackRock internal businesses

  • Providing insight into market activity and disseminating market intelligence and flow information to portfolio management teams

  • Representing the FX team on various internal forums within the investment platform

  • Working both independently and with other BlackRock teams to develop technology to improve workflow and analysis across the trading platform

  • Dealing with day-to-day administrative issues in support of trading activities and liaison with trading operations

  • Pro-actively contributing to the investment process to reduce transaction costs

 

What are we looking for?

  • Degree(s) in relevant subject such as economics, mathematics, or finance desired

  • 5+ years experience with proven interest in global capital markets, specifically with reference to Foreign Exchange markets

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency are vital

  • Robust technical skills, experience in trading non-linear FX products will be a plus

  • Effective communication skills and proven ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders

  • High computer literacy, with advanced spreadsheet-based skills, and programming knowledge a benefit

  • Strong work ethic with a high level of self-motivation

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
