About the Role
As Vice President of Finance, reporting to the CFO, you will serve as a senior finance leader responsible for shaping Mixbook’s financial strategy, planning rigor, decision support, and month end close process as we scale. You will lead and evolve the finance and accounting function, strengthen the company’s operating cadence, and act as a trusted thought partner to the CFO and executive team on resource allocation, growth investments, profitability, and long-range planning. You will play a critical role in helping Mixbook make smarter, faster, and more integrated business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy & Leadership: Work closely with the CFO and executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with Mixbook’s growth and objectives. 
  • Strategic FP&A: Drive long-term planning, budgeting, and financial analysis including robust forecasting, scenario planning, and modeling to guide Mixbook’s growth and strategic decisions. 
  • Financial Reporting & Internal Controls: Oversee all aspects of accounting and ensure adherence to tax laws and industry standards (eg, GAAP).  
  • Financial Oversight: Proactively manage cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital to support our continued profitable growth and financial stability while ensuring disciplined reporting and forecasting.
  • Business Partnering: Guide financial decisions related to product and marketing investments, pricing strategies, and go-to-market execution through collaboration with the executive team and key stakeholders.
  • Champion Systems & Processes: Responsible for enhancing and scaling the systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure financial discipline, data integrity, and company growth.
  • Support Board & Investor Relations: Prepare board and investor presentations and present key financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics to the executive team.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop high-performing teams, including finance and accounting teams based in the United States and Moldova, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration while ensuring the organization is equipped to meet our business needs.

Who You Are
You are a seasoned finance leader with a passion for innovation, growth, and building strong financial foundations. You thrive in dynamic environments and excel at leading teams to achieve ambitious goals. You have seen what good looks like in a scaling environment and understand how to evolve finance and the broader organization to keep pace with growth.

Must-Have Skills
  • 15+ years in Finance, with at least 7 years in leadership roles, preferably in DTC ecommerce and SaaS environments and within start-ups
  • Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and using complex and unstructured data
  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to act decisively and effectively
  • Skilled in problem solving, highly detail-oriented, and proficient in building relationships across all functions and levels 
  • Elite financial acumen, high analytical horsepower, and strong business judgment
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and influence across all levels, including executive leadership
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic; must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches
  • Competent in month end close, GAAP accounting standards, financial systems, implementations, and processes
  • Strong negotiation skills, including experience leading vendor, commercial, and cross-functional business negotiations
  • Highest ethical standards, integrity, humility, authenticity, credibility, and character
  • Low ego, high ownership leader with strong judgment, adaptability, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves
