Position Overview

The VP of Finance leads the strategic direction and execution of the organization’s financial functions. This includes overseeing financial planning, reporting, and compliance while managing a high-performing finance and accounting team. The VP collaborates with senior leadership to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Build and manage an “A”-caliber Finance and Accounting organization.
  • Oversee controllers, accounting, finance, and FP&A personnel.
  • Develop and maintain clear succession plans and IDPs (Individual Development Plans) for team members.
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  • Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Oversee coordination with external auditors and regulatory agencies.

 

Risk Management

  • Identify and evaluate financial risks (market, credit, operational).
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement internal controls.
  • Provide guidance on insurance coverage to protect company assets.

 

 

 

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.
  • Optimize banking relationships and financing arrangements.
  • Implement cash management strategies to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.

 

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Advise the President and executive team on financial strategy and business growth opportunities.
  • Align financial initiatives with organizational goals and KPIs.
  • Drive financial performance through strategic planning and analysis.

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial models.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and cost-saving measures.
  • Provide insights on capital allocation and resource optimization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience as a VP of Finance or similar senior finance role.
  • Expertise in financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams.
