Job Description

The Opportunity

Bulletproof is entering one of the most defining chapters in its history.  We are transforming from a broad wellness platform into a focused, disciplined, coffee-led growth company — with the ambition to build a scalable, profitable, and enduring business capable of tripling revenue over the next five years.

To achieve that ambition, we are looking for a Vice President of Finance & IT to help architect the company’s next profitable operating model.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will lead the company’s financial strategy, capital discipline, business transformation agenda, enterprise systems, and performance management infrastructure. This is not a traditional controllership or stewardship role. This is a transformation leadership role.

The VP of Finance & IT will serve as one of the CEO’s closest strategic partners in reshaping the company’s economics, accelerating operational rigor, improving cash generation, simplifying complexity, and enabling profitable organic growth.

This leader will help Bulletproof transition from entrepreneurial growing habits to world-class operating discipline — while preserving the speed, innovation, and challenger mindset that built the brand.

This role requires a rare blend of:

  • Elite financial acumen
  • Transformation and growth leadership
  • Commercial and operational partnership
  • Enterprise technology modernization
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • The ability to lead through ambiguity, change, and intensity

The ideal candidate has helped lead business turnarounds, portfolio simplification efforts, margin expansion programs, organizational redesigns, and operating model transformations inside high-growth consumer companies. They know how to build discipline without bureaucracy.

They understand how to preserve growth while dramatically improving profitability and cash generation. And they know how to create the management systems, forecasting rigor, and accountability culture required to scale a modern consumer business.

What You’ll Do

Enterprise Financial Leadership

Lead the company’s financial strategy and operating discipline to support Bulletproof’s next phase of profitable growth.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, translating Bulletproof’s long-term vision into a scalable financial and operating model.
  • Lead enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management systems that improve visibility, predictability, and accountability across the business.
  • Build a culture of disciplined decision-making rooted in ROI, cash flow, profitability, operational rigor, and simplified business management.

Financial Discipline & Cash Management

Build best-in-class financial rigor and cash management capabilities.

  • Lead company-wide profitability and cash generation initiatives focused on margin expansion, working capital improvement, and SG&A discipline.
  • Establish rigorous forecasting, liquidity management, and financial control mechanisms appropriate for a high-growth but disciplined organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve investment prioritization, resource allocation, and profitable growth decision-making.

Business Transformation & Turnaround Leadership

Help lead the company’s transformation into a focused, profitable, coffee-led growth engine.

  • Partner with the CEO to drive enterprise transformation initiatives, operating model evolution, and organizational prioritization.
  • Lead portfolio simplification, productivity improvement, and structural efficiency programs that strengthen the company’s long-term economics.
  • Develop transformation roadmaps, scenario models, and accountability mechanisms that accelerate execution and organizational clarity.

Commercial Finance & Growth Partnership

Act as a strategic business partner to Growth, Sales, eCommerce, Operations, and Supply Chain leaders.

  • Build advanced commercial finance capabilities that improve pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, and channel profitability.
  • Partner with Growth, Retail, Amazon, and DTC teams to ensure innovation and marketing investments translate into profitable growth.
  • Integrate financial planning with demand planning, S&OP, inventory management, and long-term growth priorities.

IT, Data & Enterprise Systems Leadership

Modernize Bulletproof’s technology and information infrastructure to enable scale, visibility, and faster decision-making.

  • Lead the company’s IT and enterprise systems strategy, ensuring technology infrastructure supports scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Improve enterprise reporting, analytics, and data governance capabilities to strengthen visibility and decision quality across the organization.
  • Champion systems modernization, automation, AI-enabled tools, and cybersecurity initiatives that improve productivity and business performance.

Organizational Leadership & Culture

Build a high-performance Finance & IT organization capable of supporting Bulletproof’s next chapter.

  • Recruit, develop, and inspire exceptional talent while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Elevate financial literacy, operational discipline, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Operate as a visible and influential executive leader who helps shape the culture, pace, and performance standards required for Bulletproof’s future.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience across Finance, Strategy, Transformation, or Operations.
  • Proven success leading business transformations, turnarounds, restructurings, or operating model redesigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve profitability, cash generation, and operational efficiency while supporting growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Operations teams.
  • Experience leading enterprise systems, ERP implementations, or IT modernization initiatives.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, change, and organizational transformation.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and influencing capabilities.
  • High resilience, adaptability, and ownership mentality.
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced financial or business credentials preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
