Blockstream is seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Finance & Investor Relations to lead financial planning, forecasting, capital markets strategy, and investor communications. This role will be instrumental in driving business performance through data-driven insights while managing key external relationships with investors, analysts, and other financial stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in financial modeling, corporate finance, and capital markets. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, supporting fundraising initiatives, and ensuring transparency and consistency in communications with the investment community.

What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities):

Financial Planning & Strategy:

  • Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
  • Develop detailed financial models and dashboards to inform strategic decisions
  • Analyze business performance, key drivers, and trends across all product lines
  • Partner with business leaders to align financial plans with operational goals

Capital Markets & Investor Relations:

  • Develop and execute investor relations strategies that clearly communicate Blockstream’s vision, performance, and outlook
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and financial media
  • Coordinate investor presentations, earnings materials, press releases, and Q&A prep
  • Manage relationships with investment banks, analysts, and current/potential shareholders
  • Monitor market trends, peer activity, and investor sentiment to inform strategic messaging

Corporate Finance:

  • Support fundraising and capital markets activities, including debt and equity transactions
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, banks, and strategic partners
  • Collaborate with legal and accounting teams to ensure compliance and consistency in external financial communications

What We Look For In You (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A and Investor Relations, preferably in a high-growth tech start-ups, private equity, investment banking and/or public tech company environment
  • Experience in the blockchain, fintech, SaaS, professional services, asset management, and technology sectors
  • Deep knowledge of capital markets, financial reporting, and corporate finance principles
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience in managing external relationships with investors, banks, and financial analysts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment
  • Prior exposure to private and public market fundraising
  • Familiarity with tools such as NetSuite, Excel, and financial planning platforms

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Blockstream also include discretionary bonus, equity and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range: $180,000 - $220,000
