Oddball believes that the best products are built when companies understand and value the things they are working on. We value learning and growth and the ability to make a big impact at a small company. We believe that we can make big changes happen and improve the daily lives of millions of people by bringing quality software to the federal space.

We're looking for a Vice President of Federal Business Development to lead growth strategy across Oddball's federal portfolio, building the pipeline and relationships that drive our next chapter.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and drive a multi-year business development pipeline across federal civilian and defense agencies, with a primary focus on HHS and CMS
  • Identify, qualify, and mature opportunities from early market intelligence through capture planning, teaming alignment, and pre-proposal preparation
  • Work closely with capture leadership in an integrated BD and capture motion — you're not just handing off, you're staying in it
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with both program offices and contracting officers across target agencies
  • Develop and maintain detailed account plans covering mission priorities, key decision-makers, acquisition pathways, and long-term opportunities
  • Collaborate with the VP of Growth, delivery teams, and technical SMEs to ensure early positioning translates into strong capture and proposal outcomes
  • Represent Oddball at industry events, conferences, and government forums to build brand recognition in key markets

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven federal business development experience with a track record of winning or supporting successful Full and Open pursuits across civilian and/or defense agencies
  • Deep familiarity with HHS, CMS, and/or adjacent federal civilian agency markets; experience with VA or DoD is a plus
  • Experience working in an integrated BD and capture model — comfortable operating across both disciplines
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, contract vehicles, and agency budget cycles
  • Experience developing account plans, multi-year pipelines, and customer engagement strategies across a diverse federal portfolio
  • Ability to build credible relationships with both program offices and contracting officers at all levels
  • Thrives in a remote, collaborative environment and brings the same human-centered mindset to BD that Oddball brings to delivery
  • Communicates clearly and openly, whether briefing leadership, engaging a government stakeholder, or aligning a cross-functional internal team

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. In alignment with federal contract requirements, certain roles may also require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or a security clearance.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Benefits:

  • Fully remote
  • Tech & Education Stipend
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package
  • Company Match 401(k) plan
  • Flexible PTO, Paid Holidays

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
