Why We're Hiring

The Vice President, Events & Experiences overseeing the management, execution, and growth of Complex’s flagship events, experiential retail, and cultural activations. This role is responsible for delivering best-in-class live experiences that drive audience engagement, brand impact, and revenue while ensuring operational excellence across all experiential platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the strategy, development, and execution of flagship experiential properties, including: ComplexCon, Family Style, Complex Market, Verzuz, Complex pop-ups at flagship stores, and tentpole events.
  • Lead the company’s division for live events, activations, and experiential initiatives from end-to-end management for all events, retail activations, and pop-up experiences, including overseeing event planning and execution, production, vendor management, and operational logistics.
  • Manage the core internal Events & Experiences team of 13+ across production, partnerships, and operations and work cross-functionally across sales, marketing, partnerships, editorial, comms, commerce, legal, and finance.
  • Translate cultural trends across music, fashion, food, and entertainment into impactful experiences that drive brand visibility. 
  • Own the P&L across the events and experiences portfolio. Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance across all experiential initiatives.
  • Represent the company with talent, brands, partners, sponsors, and collaborators.
  • Ensure each property continues to grow in scale, cultural relevance, and profitability, and are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standard.
  • Oversee experiential programming across Complex Flagship Stores in LA and NY. Develop pop-up activations tied to cultural tentpoles and key brand moments.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align experiential initiatives with company growth and brand strategy.
  • Integrate retail, commerce, and community engagement into physical experiences to align with the company’s KPIs. 
  • Drive experiential revenue and profitability through ticketing, sponsorships/branded integrations, and merchandise.
  • Partner with brand partnerships strategy and sales teams to develop sponsorship opportunities across events and activations.
  • Support client pitches and integrated experiential programs.
  • Grow event attendance and audience engagement.
  • Expand the brand’s presence through new markets, events, and activations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing events into new markets and formats and lead the development of new experiential concepts and IP.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale live event management and production, specifically in consumer facing festivals, conventions, experiential marketing activations and corporate events.
  • Proven experience managing teams and 8 figure+ budgets and event P&Ls.
  • Strong leadership, operational, and management skills.
  • Deep understanding of culture across music, fashion, food, entertainment and the brands and consumers that Complex serves.
  • Strong rolodex of vendors across event production ecosystem .
