  • Design data-driven commercial strategies, including segmentation models, audience intelligence, yield optimization, sponsorship analytics, and pricing insights.
  • Build and scale data products and services that enhance customer value, support personalization, and create new revenue streams for clients and partners.

Analytics, Insights & AI

  • Oversee advanced analytics programs that fuel content strategy, customer behavior analysis, event forecasting, churn modeling, and marketing attribution.
  • Set and evangelize a companywide framework for data storytelling and executive reporting, enabling precise, data-backed decision-making.

Data Architecture, Governance & Operations

  • Provide executive oversight of data platforms, data engineering, architecture, and governance to ensure accuracy, scalability, and compliance across all business units.
  • Build a unified view of customer, event, and engagement data through master data management, metadata standards, and data quality programs.
  • Drive the evolution of our cloud data ecosystem, ensuring modern, efficient, and secure infrastructure for analytics and AI.

Leadership & Organizational Influence

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team spanning data strategy, analytics, engineering, and data governance.
  • Foster a culture of data literacy and innovation across the company, enabling teams to independently leverage insights in day-to-day decision-making.
  • Represent the data strategy function at the executive table, influencing long-term business planning, product roadmaps, and digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in data science, business analytics, computer science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in data strategy, analytics, or digital transformation, ideally within media, events, information services, or B2B organizations.
  • Demonstrated success translating data and insights into business strategy, revenue growth, and customer value creation.
  • Deep understanding of AI and applied machine learning, with a track record of deploying AI solutions that improve business performance or customer experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks, GCP, Snowflake), modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and analytics environments.
  • Proven ability to lead data governance, MDM, and enterprise data management initiatives.
  • Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder leadership, and strategic storytelling abilities.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience supporting sales, marketing, product development, and audience engagement functions.
  • Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and a hands-on problem solver in a dynamic, fast-paced media environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
