Vice President, Data Science

Duetto is at an inflection point — moving from heuristic-based approaches to a fully ML-powered intelligence layer that drives forecasting, pricing, and decisioning across thousands of hotel properties worldwide. As VP of Data Science, you'll set the vision for that transition, build the team and practice to execute it, and deliver the agentic workflows that help hotel operators run a genuinely better business. This is a rare opportunity to define the intelligence strategy for the market-leading platform in hospitality technology, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer with board-level visibility.

What You'll Be Doing

• You'll build and lead the intelligence engine behind Duetto's Revenue & Profit Operating System — setting a multi-year data science strategy that balances high-uncertainty research with pragmatic delivery, and establishing a rigorous science practice across Data Science Product Management, Analytics, ML Platform, and R&D.
• You'll lead the vision for Duetto's evolution toward agentic workflows — providing the technical blueprint for moving from fragmented, manual decisions to unified, intelligent automation that helps hotel operators make better commercial, financial, and operational decisions at scale.
• You'll own the model lifecycle end-to-end in a high-scale SaaS environment: deploying advanced forecasting, pricing optimisation, and causal models into production with measurable customer adoption, while managing the strategic trade-offs between model performance, system latency, and operational cost.
• You'll build the business case for data science investment, allocate departmental budget effectively, and influence peers in Engineering and Product to ensure data science capabilities are integrated into intuitive UX and scalable platform patterns.
• You'll preside over a rigorous research culture that prioritises reproducibility, global-scale evaluation, and decision-grade product analytics — and establish Responsible AI guardrails that ensure all models meet high standards for auditability, transparency, and data governance.
• You'll hire, develop, and continuously raise the bar for a high-performing organisation across multiple sub-functions, and communicate vision and execution progress to the wider organisation, the executive leadership team, and the board of directors.

What We're Looking For

You may be a good fit if you have:

• 12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of data science and product leadership operating production-grade data science organisations
• A track record of delivering business outcomes from innovative, data science-driven product development in high-scale SaaS environments
• Proven expertise managing the model lifecycle with specific focus on latency, cost, and data quality constraints
• Deep technical judgment in causal methods, forecasting, pricing optimisation, and experimentation in real-world commercial settings
• Experience building or partnering on ML Platforms and MLOps — monitoring, deployment modes, and CI/CD for ML
• Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated track record of hiring, developing, and high-grading technical talent across multiple sub-functions

Strong candidates may also have:

• An advanced degree in computer science, operations research, or a related analytical field
• Experience scaling ML across many tenants with heterogeneous data behaviour — hierarchical or per-entity modelling at scale
• Specialized knowledge of hospitality technology, specifically revenue management
• Experience operating in privacy or security-constrained environments, or regulated decision-intelligence systems
