Remote, U.S.-Based

Compensation: $180,000 – $190,000 base + commission

Travel: Significant (up to ~40%)

With a strong track record of supporting high-growth companies, gener8tor has expanded across the U.S. and internationally, building partnerships with governments, corporations, universities and economic development organizations to drive entrepreneurship and economic impact. gener8tor operates accelerators across 45 cities, 25 states and 3 countries, working with more than 300 startups per year. To date, gener8tor has worked with more than 2,000 startups that have cumulatively gone on to raise more than $2.9B in financing and employ more than 14,000 people.

Position Summary

gener8tor is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to help drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships across the gener8tor platform. This role will work closely with the SVP of Business Development to originate and close high-value partnerships with corporations, universities, governments, foundations, and ecosystem partners that support gener8tor’s accelerator programs, venture initiatives, and broader platform.

The VP of Business Development will lead complex partnership opportunities from prospecting through negotiation and closing, while also helping guide and support the broader business development team. This individual will serve as a player-coach, contributing directly to revenue while helping strengthen sales processes, pipeline visibility, and overall BD operations.

Our ideal candidate is a proven closer with a strong network, experience navigating multi-stakeholder deals, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. They are entrepreneurial, relationship-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment.

ResponsibilitiesRevenue Growth & Strategic Partnerships
  • Identify, develop, and close high-value partnerships with corporations, universities, governments, and ecosystem partners.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach to deal structuring and negotiation.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior decision-makers and strategic partners.
  • Represent gener8tor at conferences, meetings, and industry events nationwide.
Business Development Leadership
  • Partner with the SVP of Business Development to shape and execute overall BD strategy.
  • Support and manage members of the business development team on pipeline development, deal strategy, and closing.
  • Help drive a strong performance culture centered around accountability and results.
Sales Operations & Internal Collaboration
  • Help improve BD systems, processes, and pipeline reporting to ensure strong visibility and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with program leaders and internal teams to ensure successful partnership execution.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of deals and partnerships within gener8tor’s CRM.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, enterprise sales, or related roles.
  • Proven track record closing large or complex partnerships with corporations, universities, governments, or similar organizations.
  • Experience leading or mentoring sales or business development teams.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing pipelines and working with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 1-2 times per month.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
