Job Description:

The Job/What You'll Do:

AssetMark is seeking a visionary Vice President, Advisor Journey Marketing to lead the strategy, development, and execution of integrated marketing programs designed to attract, engage, and grow our advisor community.  This leader will own the end-to-end advisor experience across key lifecycle stages ensuring consistent, compelling, and differentiated interactions that drive measurable business growth.

This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and will serve as a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team, working closely with sales, product, service, and executive leadership to shape how AssetMark shows up for advisors.

This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Define and lead the advisor journey marketing strategy to support business growth, advisor acquisition, retention, and re-engagement
  • Architect and evolve the advisor lifecycle, identifying friction points, needs, and opportunities to enhance the end-to-end experience
  • Partner with sales, product, service, brand, and events to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to advisor engagement
  • Represent marketing in firm-wide forums, growth planning, and executive-level discussions

Advisor Engagement & Experience:

  • Design and execute marketing programs tailored to key advisor segments:
    • New advisors
    • Existing & active advisors
    • Disengaged advisors
    • Strategic partner advisors
  • Develop multi-channel engagement strategies that combine education, digital experiences, events, and content to support advisor growth and success
  • Drive the creation of advisor-centric content, tools, and resources that strengthen relationships and fuel business growth

Data-Driven Growth & Optimization:

  • Establish and track KPIs to measure advisor engagement, pipeline conversion, retention, and overall marketing effectiveness
  • Leverage marketing automation, CRM, and data analytics to inform strategies, optimize campaigns, and deliver personalized advisor journeys
  • Own marketing’s contribution to business development and retention metrics

Team leadership & Development:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Advisor Journey Marketing team with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and results
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and cross-functional partnership

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the independent financial advisor ecosystem
  • Proven success in designing and executing marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong leadership presence
  • Expertise in lifecycle marketing, segmentation, personalization, and digital transformation
  • Proficiency in marketing automation, CRM platforms (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud), and data-driven decision making
  • Strong knowledge of investment products, advisor business models, and wealth management trends is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies is preferred
  • A track record of innovation, adaptability, and delivering marketing ROI is preferred

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of marketing leadership experience, with at least 7+ years in a senior role, ideally within financial services, fintech, or wealth management
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, matrixed environments
  • Experience with multi-channel marketing programs, including digital, events, content, and thought leadership, is preferred

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $190,000-$230,000.

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
